Lightly hopped for the style, but nice full toast chocoo body. Well rounded and smooth, but missing a bit of edge that I like in the good examples of this style. Great label though.

Bottle from seabass. Pours out a dark brown almost black topped with a tan head. Nose is roast smoke spice and some herbal hop notes. Taste is as the nose with roast leading the way some tobacco. Not a nw black ipa but still good.

Clear brown red, rocky brown head. Hops! and roasted malts (coffee, licorice). Aroma of roasted malts, licorice, coffee bean, ashy (charred wood), with a strong hoppy bitter ending (herbs).

The first beer of my Brussels weekend experience ordered as an apťritif while waiting for food at NŁetnigenough. I didnít know what I had to expect from a "black IPA" and to be honest hadnít even registered the beer was from "Brasserie de la Senne". Dark colour, little head, discreet hoppy nose. Taste to me was an IPA taste with very slight coffee an malt taste. Extremely tasty and refreshing after a long walk through Brussels.

Coffee and smokey smell, no hops or yeast at this point. Some sugar traces. Dark brown body, with very little head (the big bubbles dont last), the cargo isnít its strongest assets. Taste revive the smells of coffee and smokes but adding some interesting licorice sugar taste but the texture doesnít follow. About the palate ill mention a good short bitter finish that leaves some roasted coffee in the mouth for quite some time. very nice IMO. Overall I was expecting more of this one but Iím not an expert in Black IPA so itís as good as any. Drinked from 33cl Bottle from fridge in Teku glass

Medium, rather dense dark-beige head over virtually black beer. Rather warm chocolate nose, with some spicy, but discreet hops. Bit of bubblegum and herbs. Dry, coffeeish, even stoutish flavours; dry-roasted barley. Hops are again just there in the background, mild and discreet. Little or no hopbitterness, sweetish and roasted malts in evidence. Plywood and coffee retronasal. Well-carbonated, medium bodied at best, bit sticky MF. A bit watery imo.
