Slight/medium aroma of malts, caramel, pine, dark fruit, liquorice, chocolate, roasted malts and hops.

Turbid/opaque ruby/brown with heavy yeast and with a slight/medium beige head.

Starts medium sweet with malts, caramel, pine, dark fruit, liquorice and chocolate; ends slightly bitter and dry with roasted malts and hops.

This beer is rather intense, complex and balanced. A lot of piney hops and roasted malts. These two work great together in creating an interesting beer.

Bouteille: Deep ruby-amber coloured, hazy, big and stable creamy tanned head; fruity , a btt , port-vinous nose with a quite solid herbal- hoppy background; moderate to solid bitter-sweet flavour, quite medium bodied; lingering chocolatey and vinous and dark-malty finish, disturbed by a solid herbal-hoppy aftertaste. Very nice brew...

Bottle at home. Clear mahogany with big caramel head. Lots of soft roasted note with toast, chestnuts, toffee, mango, grapefruit, milk chocolate. The nose is not that amazing but the taste is great with roasted and sweet notes mixing well, and a lasting roasted and hoppy bitter finish. Medium bodied with a bit creamy feel going into light mineral feel into the finish. Mouth coating slight fizzy carbonation. Not a typical black IPA at all but it’s quite good.

330mL bottle from International Beer Collector. BB 19/05/16 Deep bronze body, creamy beige head persists. Nice malt nose - burnt nuts, cola, weak black coffee, dark toffee, with woody, earthy citrus hop character. Full chewy smooth body, good weight. Lovely malt body - nutty, dark toffee, bit of cocoa with earthy woody hops delivering a good whomp of bitterness. Nice beer!

Sampled from a bottle shared with Holmen1 in Copenhagen. Pours a very dark brown with a foaming tan head. Aromas of fresh bread and chocolate. A rich and complex taste of burnt sugar, dried fruit, prunes and with a hint of grapefruit. Lots of ash flavours leading to a long, dry finish. A little thin tasting in the mouth. A complex and enjoyable black IPA.
