Blond foncé trouble, belle pétillance. Très amère, légèrement épicée avec un petit retour fruité. Typique de La Senne.
4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20 Hopped_Silly (236) - California, USA - MAY 17, 2013
Deep and low toned, with subtle nuances and a bitter edge. Earthy, dusty floorboard, savory, Unami, yeast layers, with bitter citrus notes. Deep and complex, while also being understated and delicate. An impressive brew which requires your attention to fully appreciate, though is still super easy to mindlessly drink. Medium bodied. Great mouthfeel. Lingering finish of above mentioned flavors. DRY. Very well made. Very modest for such a fine beer. Yeast is definitely the showcased element here. I think this is a great example of a Belgian blonde ale. Unlike the sweet, tropical, spiced American blondes like Pranqster, etc.

27/03/2013 Ma che siete venuti a fà (tap). Dorata, viva, limpidissima, schiuma bianca molto abbondante e persistente. Al naso parecchi off flavours, puzza di fogna, qualche sentore di scorza d’arancia e crosta di pane. In bocca va appena meglio, anche qui arancia, malto, luppolo e una punta acidula. Corpo medio-leggero, carbonazione corretta. Non era in perfette condizioni, dovrei riprovarla.

Very much along hte lines of a zippier duvel with a bolder bitter hop finish.

This beer is one bitter ale... In aroma and taste prevale hop notes and abstringent final... I dislike this type of beer...

Bottle at North Bar, Leeds (Lowlands ’13). Pours a clear orange amber, comedy Duvel-style head. Aroma is lovely Belgian fun: really peppery, with apricot, banana and Belgian yeast. Taste is nice and light: soft apricot/banana, mineraly fun and Belgian yeast, with a nice and conspicuous pepper note from the middle to the end. Bitter, dryish finish. Hits the spot, no pretence, just a lovely beer.

On tap at Brasserie Arnage, Cesena. It pours clear golden with a large soapy white head. Aroma is citrusy with orange peel and hops. Grass, flowers and some yeast. Taste is clea and refreshing, quite hoppy with orange zest, citrus and violets. Hints of bready-peppery yeast. Medium mouthfeel with good carbonation. Overall, balanced and refreshing, very nice.

On tap at Crowbar, Oslo. Slightly hazy golden with an off-white head. Yeasty Belgian aroma with fruits and some lightly hoppy notes. Medium sweet and fruity with a quite dry and lightly bitter finish. Lightly bitter aftertaste with hints of citrus. Nice and refreshing Belgian ale! (2013-04-25)

Draft @ Moeder Lambic Fontainas, thanks to friends of Seb’s for this one (Andre in this case I think)! Poured a misty golden aroma with a white head. Slightly sourish aroma, the hops and yeast both show their presence, along with the similar nice sweet grainy malty notes to the Band Of Brothers. Mildly spicy soft taste, a classic Belgian ale! Light bitterness and extremely balanced. Yay!
