Dark golden with a sweetness on the tongue, mellow bitterness and a good belgian all-round yeast and malt flavour. More of this please.

UPDATED: AUG 6, 2014 33cl bottle bottled01/2014, bedankt tderoeck. Very much the Poperinge grasses-forward version of yeastier Zinnebir, boasting a plethora of strong bitter EU hop flavours ranging from unripe citrus to white pepper, dandelion and straw. Yeast profile is decidedly de la Senne dry and clovey, yet has phantom limb pains of a tripel: some fruitiness there, working well with almond malts. Yeast-astringent dry finish. The missing incremental link between more sessionable Taras Boulba and yeast-luxurious Zinnebir. / rerate 07/2014; distinctly more aniseed and dandelion in the dishwater soap mounaintous head, Belgian ABV-fuming esters disturbing the otherwise trademark pollen dryness. Not as convincing as Zinnebir imho.

11.2oz bottle, from Dutch’s. Hazy darker golden color. Pours with a big fluffly mostly white head that reatins. Very nice citrusy, light grapefruity hop aroma. Some definite belgian yeast aroma. Toffee, toasted malt, some caramel sugary belgian-type sweetness in the finish. Lightly spicy. Some cool grapefruit hop. Light bitter, moderate sweet. Medium to bigger body. Smooth, soft light to moderate carbonation. Lightly dry finish. Solid, interesting belgian ale. Very satisfying, interesting, more aggressive modern hop profile.

Bottle at Reading BF 2014. Hazy gold lasting cream head. Hoppy and rather good. Nicely hoppy. Not a lot of yeast but the hops are excellent. Good bitterness on the finish.

Vignale (2104) - Malmö, SWEDEN - APR 27, 2014
Flaska från Etre Gourmete. Gyllenfärgad, disig, stort fluffigt occh kompakt skum. Snyggt.

3fourths (8100) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - APR 23, 2014
Lightly hazed amber-gold body with a long-lasting rocky white head. Toasted sweet bread / cookie-ish malt with grassy and citric hops . Medium body, sweet+ with relatively balanced bitterness Has a fruity core of orange and apricot jelly with a touch of muddled browned banana yeast. Higher sugar content than Taras Boulba and Crushable, but seems well-matched by bitterness, mouth feel and carbonation/acidity effect on relative sweetness.

Brussels Calling to the faraway towns, now War is declared.., oh, yeah, my beer review... Tap at Moeder. Was supposed to be a half, but it's not. Bonus! Pours yellow orange with s big clingy white head. Aroma is grains, cereal, boiling wort. Flavor is multigrain bread backbone with grassy hop bitterness.

Brouwerij (930) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - APR 22, 2014
2013 bottle Pours hazy gold orange with big, pillowy white head. Decent retention and stringy lace. Aroma is citrus, piney, resinous and mildly stale hops, wheat and grain. Flavor is citrus, piney, resinous hops up front, bubblegum, fruity, mildly bitter, fading into a sweet, malt/grain finish and mildly bitter aftertaste. It’s a shame the bottle isn’t fresher. Soft carbonation, medium body and smooth texture.

Metalchopz (2317) - Cantley, Quebec, CANADA - APR 20, 2014
Bottle from the Hunger Mountain Coop in Vermont. Pours a hazy golden colour with tiny bits floating around. White soapy head with a nice stay and some foamy and sticky lacing. Aromas are quite fruity with oranges mostly, hints of Belgian Ale yeast and spices. Medium-bodied, oily mouthfeel with a mild dry finish. Citrus taste with the yeast balancing the zest. Light hop bitterness completes the rest. I like this Belgian ale.
