UPDATED: APR 16, 2013 Bitter is better indeed. Another quality beer by brussels’ finest. Great taste, fresh and surprising aftertaste. The balance between bitterness and fruit is amazing, very well balanced beer. Ace!

Tap at CK. Pours full haze, glowing pineapple with a massive, volcanic head. Huge retention and massive lacing. Nose is a little delicate and relaxed- soft nuances of peach ice cream, vanilla, pineapple. Fresh linen abounds. Very soft. Taste is amazingly fluffy pineapple ice cream. Super aerated and silky palate. No soap or harshness. Grassy herbal hop balance is huge. Up front there is sugary pineapple, cantaloupe, honeydew balanced by huge grassy and peppery hops. Long, bitter, pilsner like finish. sugary pineapple and peach juice up front. Huge hoppy bitterness and dryness through finish. This was one incredible experience. Wow. Had this next to fresh Taras Boulba on tap and the extra body and extra hop bite on this one is just out of this world.

For my 400’th rating I choose this one for couple of different reasons ; it is a beer from my home town brewery, under this label they brewed their first beer, it’s one of the best beers from this brewery and the most solid reason is that simply it was available. 33cl bottle. Yellow and hazy liquid with medium snow white head. Nose : soap fruitiness and yeast, grains and straw. Sip : low to medium density with oily/creamy texture. Light carbonation. Very brief sweet tart start overtaken by complex bitter hops. Well balanced. It’s fruity with some straw like aftertaste. Greatly refreshing. It’s between "Teras Bulba" and "Jambe de bois". My favorite from the brewer.

Golden and citrus fruit nose with a touch of apricot and floral hops. Very dry, just a hint of cotton candy, bright juicy peach, fresh flowers and dusty yeast. Delicious.

bottle@home: hazy orange with a creamy, solid white head, strongly bitter and fruity with bitter grassy, herbal & to a lesser extent bitter floral hops, lots of yeast, hay, balanced of by creamy fruit (peaches, lighter oranges,…), herbal with creamy plastic body & slight plastic taste, lingering bitter aftertaste, basically a much better version of Zinnebir, to be filled under Belgian IPA

Schiuma cremosa, persistente. Aroma fruttato (ananas, agrumi), con note erbacee e floreali. In bocca molto secca, amara, rinfrescante

Deep and low toned, with subtle nuances and a bitter edge. Earthy, dusty floorboard, savory, Unami, yeast layers, with bitter citrus notes. Deep and complex, while also being understated and delicate. An impressive brew which requires your attention to fully appreciate, though is still super easy to mindlessly drink. Medium bodied. Great mouthfeel. Lingering finish of above mentioned flavors. DRY. Very well made. Very modest for such a fine beer. Yeast is definitely the showcased element here. I think this is a great example of a Belgian blonde ale. Unlike the sweet, tropical, spiced American blondes like Pranqster, etc. --- tasted while on a long journey to understand the world around me...

Hazy yellow body with a white head. Aroma of German hops. Heavily bitter, lightly sweet, well balanced flavour. Very nice balance.
