Flaske, 33 cl.

Hazy golden with a lasting white head. Complex and inviting aroma with grassy and herbal hoppy notes, along with fruity and spicy Belgian yeast. Dryish and bitter flavour with some light bready malt, fruity and spicy notes and plenty of herbal hops

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a lightly hazy blonde with a fluffy head and nice lacing on the glass.
The aroma is bready and lightly fruity with some subdued black pepper. It’s got a good leafy hop character & and really very inviting.
The flavor is plenty bitter and dominantly dry. It’s got a great leafy hop character with some cool light fruity flavors, primarily citrus and citrus rind but it’s got a really nice bright pear thing going on as well.
Shelf beer yeah, but geeze r u jokin’? Doesn’t taste like a shelf.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
2012 bottle next to bottle of Taras boulba. murky hay color, lighter than Taras. Really dank nose, not quite as sharp as Taras, floral rich with honey hints. Soapy flavor very balanced, biting hop leafs mid before floral calms, hints of wax and earth through the lightly doughy finish. Very balanced, more freshness.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours an orange gold color with light head but nice carbonation. The aroma was light, floral, fruity and yeasty. The taste was lightly sweet and finishes moderately bitter. The body was a little heavier than appearances suggested being medium to full bodied. Overall a great Belgian ale with a good amount of hops, very enjoyable.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Pours a clear orangish gold body with a lively one inch foamy white head that had excellent retention due to the vigorous carbonation. The nose is fairly light, some Belgian yeast fruitiness, pale malt, some light alcohol, and hardly any hops at all. The flavor is fairly bitter, but still pretty focused on the malt, heavy, pale, and doughy, with a perfumy and slightly alcoholic kick. Reminds me of an amped up in the hops department Duvel. Rather heavy bodied with a slight clinginess on the finish. Lingering bitter floral hops and alcohol. Pretty nice beer, but not a big favorite for me.
