3.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 dec23 (52) - Amsterdam, - JUL 22, 2011
This brew takes the best aspects of Taras Boulba and Zinnebir and wraps them into one nicely balanced package. Great complex taste that offers new nuances with each mouthful. It is not easy to make a low percentage beer with a strong and expressive taste, but De la Senne did it yet again. A beer that is unmistakably Belgian without being more of the same.

Monk’s Cafe, Philadelphia tap ($7): Pours a hazy golden color with a white head. Aroma is Belgian yeast, with a funky element up in there. Some fruitiness, with but a hint of hops. Nice and mellow and exceedingly well-balanced. This is a subtle beer, but it was refreshing and frankly, a pleasure to drink.
