(Bottled) Opaque orange with a large, firm and cloud-forming, lacy head. Aroma of lime-citrusy hops with German-style herbiness, and lots of pale malt. Quite bitter, even stingy and almost cat-peeish flavor with grassy hops and reasonable pale maltiness backing it up. Slight stuffy ashiness, too. Long, bitter finish. Almost medium body with medium, soft carbonation. The malty base is excellent for the ABV, but there is too much harsh bitterness and not enough complexity for my liking. I’d like to see this in a more aroma hop oriented form, perhaps with a touch of sourness. 4734

Monk’s Cafe, Philadelphia tap ($7): Pours a hazy golden color with a white head. Aroma is Belgian yeast, with a funky element up in there. Some fruitiness, with but a hint of hops. Nice and mellow and exceedingly well-balanced. This is a subtle beer, but it was refreshing and frankly, a pleasure to drink.

Draught at Monk’s Cafe. Nice orange/light orange hoppy Belgian. Some citrus. Nice.

Draught at TND: Aroma of Belgian yeast, flowers, slight fruit, and some grain. Poured yellow in color with huge, creamy, dense, foamy, white head that greatly diminished but lasted throughout. Clear. Lightly sparkling. Flavor is slightly sweet and lightly bitter. Tastes of malt, light Belgian yeast, grass, and Noble hops. Light to medium body. Slightly dry texture. Average carbonation. Malt, Noble hop finish is slightly sweet and medium bitter.

Typical Belgian style with a touch towards sasion. Not wow but good and solid. Worth while testing ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Hazy yellow body with a white head. Aroma of German hops. Heavily bitter, lightly sweet, well balanced flavour. Very nice balance.

Light hazy, blond colour, white head. Bitter, malty flavour, quite fruity. Light flavour, malty, bitter, quite dry. Dry bitter finish.

Draft (Avenue Pub, New Orleans). Head is mostly diminishing. Body is hazy medium yellow. Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain), moderately hoppy (flowers, herbs, lemon), with notes of gum, pepper, and dried pineapple. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter. Medium body, velvety texture, lively carbonation. A truly delightful quaffer...bright and enticing nose, nice balance and mouthfeel, etc. Very solid, as expected from this world-class brewery.
