4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 shoulderbroken (1144) - Tokyo, JAPAN - JAN 10, 2013
Bottle from Beer Planet labelled Zwarte Piet. Apparently Zwarte Piet is going to be another different beer soon, but this one was the Equinox. Dark brown, creamy golden head. Aroma is beefy, roasty. Bit fruity too, and some whiskey type booze or spice. Taste is dark and roasty, bit of booze there, touch of coffee bitterness, spice, liquorice. Quite full on in the mouth and even a little bit prickly. Pretty nice.

Bottle at a Ratebeer "sticky floor" tasting, Den Haag. Poured a deep reddish brown colour with a big off white frothy head. The aroma is spicy malt and liquorice. The flavour is bitter and liquorice with a slightly medicinal aftertaste. A very drinkable beer.

Thick white head. Hazy amber pour. A lovely brew
4.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20 erickok (2282) - Tours, FRANCE - DEC 1, 2012
Very dark brown body and creamy light beige head. Yeast, bread, taaitaai, warming, berries and forest. Quit smooth, yet active carbonation. Modern feel, well hopped, rich bitterness and toasted malts. Nice and yeasty, my kind of thing. Long ending, flavourful without brew. Thanks Borresteijn! (33cl bottle)

Dark brown coloured beer with medium brown head and no carbonation visible. Malty sweet and roasted aroma. Full sparkling palate. Finish is rather roasted bitter dry. Nice one!
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 pentaz (460) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - NOV 10, 2012
Pours brown with a tan minimal head. Aroma: dark/burned caramel, belgian-yeast esters (bubblegum), subtle aromatic hops.
Medium body, roasted malt, burned caramel, hazelnut leading to a slight hoppy and dry finish.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 JorgeLee (721) - Greater London, ENGLAND - NOV 10, 2012
On tap at Moeder Fontainas, as Zwarte Piet. Black in colour, with a hint of cola in the depths, and a thick white head. Wow is this almost something like a stout or porter, with a boozy roasted malt character but also a robust hop finish. More like a British microbrew than a Belgian ale to me.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 womencantsail (6896) - Garbage Grove, California, USA - OCT 7, 2012
Very dark, almost black, pour with a khaki head. Nose is roasted malt and licorice with a bit of dark fruit sweetness. Some hints of dark chocolate, grass, and a mild acidity. There’s a nice sweet dark fruit character on the palate. A fair amount of roast and licorice with a moderate acidity. Lightly tart, some burnt sugar, and hints of grass.
