Very nice golden color with plenty of consistent foam. Faint malts aroma. Nice malty taste, bitter but very balanced, round with hints of clove and licorice. Doesn’t stay much on the palate. Could be treacherous: very easily swallowed, but 8%. Would be great on tap and very cold.

Bottle from Appellation Wines. Appearance - golden orange with a nice fluffy head. Nose - lemon peel and grass. Perhaps some spice. Taste - candied orange, light white pepper note. Palate - medium bodied with a tangy texture and a long dry tangy finish. Overall - good example of an Abbey Tripel.

BOTTLE 33 CL. Like any other tripel, it has a deceivingly light body, some malty/honey sweetness, perfumy blond fruit and a touch of alcohol. But unlike most of them, the fruity notes a subdued, while the spicy bitterness is amplified. You also get a nice „warm” herbal hops aroma. The finish is long and bitter. It is pretty clear and clean, but if you pour the big yest sediment, you get that brewbup-like young yeasty beer touch. Good, though I prefer milder, more fragrant tripels.

Aroma: grain, yeast, light citrus. Appearance: hazy, pale yellow, medium, frothy, white head. Taste: light sweet. Palate: grainy sweets continue, some light bitters coming up, yeast flavours. Overall: very nice Tripel, excellent palate.

Bottle 33cl. Hazy medium golden color, good frothy white head, recedes slowly to a thick layer with yeast islets, good lacing; malty aroma, dough, honey, apricot, orange marmalade, grassy, coriander; taste medium sweet and bitter, fruity, hint of honey; medium to full body, creamy texture, soft carbonation, medium bitter and slightly sweet aftertaste, bit alcohol, fruity and spicy notes in the finish; great tripel, complex and well-balanced.

33cl bottle, bottled on 18/03/14. Pours unclear golden color, white head. Beautiful. Aroma has lemon, belgian yeast, floral notes, some perfume even. Flavor has citrus, hops, floral notes. This is dry, really dry. Orange, perfumy notes lingers in my mouth for long. Bitter, dry. Really good. Some alcohol warmth.

33cl bottle. Aroma is champagne-like, bread dough, slight honeyish, some peppery fizziness in the noise, chamomile, but dusty too (glass or beer). Hazy (sediment poured into glass) golden body, persistent white foam. Sweet biscuit and some orange marmalade bitterness, persistent, quite intense and enjoyable. Lots of effervescence which results in a creamy mouthfeel. Pleasant pithy aftertaste.

Bottle 33cl from brasserie de la Senne, @ home. You can feel the caracteristic yeast from de la senne, as well as the usual bitterness, but also a sweeter taste that makes it more accessible (and more dangerous as you don’t feel the 8% abv!). Nice tripel.
