3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at Moeder Fontainas. This is a very pale yellow beer. I’d say it’s more of a hoppy Duvel style than a traditional abbey tripel, with a spicy yeastiness, perfumy aroma and long bitter finish. Slightly absurdly I was disappointed, drinking it straight after Zinnebir my expectations maybe got ahead of me - these De La Senne beers are excellent. On a side note, they do cool labels on bottles too!

Waaay too bitter for the style. It's unfortunate that this love for hops has taken over other styles. Moeder Brussels.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
May ’16. A 0.33 l bottle. It poured hazy pale yellow body with medium sized head. A sharp tripel aroma - apple, orange, vanilla, coriander, alcohol. Flavor was bitter, apple, grass, coriander, citrus, grainy with a touch of alcohol. A fine balance of it all, really pleasant. Full bodied with long bitter finish, like lemon and orange peel. At the very end it became papery dry, but not in the bad way. Very good!

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle at home. Slight hazy light golden with big white head. Pils malts, flowery, honey, light lime, coriander, spicy yeast, soft milky and creamy. Over medium bitter and almost medium sweet. Bit over medium bodied with creamy feel and soft fizzy carbonation. Nice beer but a bit too bitter and flowery for me, nice mouthfeel though.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Yeast, citrus, malts, golden qith a not very persistant white head, medium body, medium carbonation, again citrus but also an hoppy and bitter profile instead the typical tripel sweetness that i love...maybe not a victory but a spark of revolution in this classic belgian style; good job old man.

A nice bitter tripel, really distinguishes itself from the average sweet tripel. Has some sweetness as well. A bit spicy and floral aromas. But the beer still tastes fresh. Nice carbonation.
