This beer defies the style but is not un-pleasant. A decent pour brings for the soft smell of malt character. But not very malty, simple hints of toast and coffee. Dark appearance with a soft foam head. Light taste and not strong but subtle maltiness with tiny taste and almost no bitter. Dry and not bad, but I was expecting more.

33cl bottle @ Bierhuyske. thick cream tan head. Clear black pour. Lovely chocolate in the aftertaste with a subtle smokey taste. A good stout.

---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from Meny Grim. Very dark brown. Tiniest bit of slightly tan head - didn’t even cover the surface of the beer. Roasted coffee and plum nose. Bitter. Light body and carbonation. Roasted coffee, grass, seltzers and some herbal flavours. Keeping this under 6% ABV leaves something wanted in the flavour and body departement.

Fluffy beige head, tar black color. Decent aromas of grassy hops and bitter chocolate - leaning into a Black-IPA direction. Lively carbonation puts a metallic character to earthy, roasted malts. There is also coffee and stawy hop bitterness detectable, which are pleasantly compounded. Slightly bitter, watery aftertaste, while carbonation is a little too high, adding a very present metallic note, which distracts from the overall chocolate and coffee taste. Smooth mouthfeel, a little too straight forward.

330ml bottle from Chez Sophie, Shrewsbury. Pours black with roasted malts aroma. Taste is predominantly roasted malts, tobacco and that familiar Senne bitterness with a dry finish. Nice but a bit too bitter for me.

Visual: Pours jet brown/black with a massive lasting ultra-creamy head, sticky lacing, suspended sediment, lots of slow steady streams. Nose: light roasted sweet malts. mild cola (lvl-3)-pungency Attack: super crisp, very creamy mouthfeel, incoming malts Mid-palate: fizzy-tingly, (lvl-4)-sweetness, (MAIN) chocolate-coffee/mocha, caramel, roasted bitter malts, mild burnt wood, hints of vanilla Finish: light sourness, malty bittersweet + bitter hopped coffee finish. Summary: Quite straightforward with flavour and texture. It didn’t amaze me but made me glad that I tried it.
