Bottle. Pours black brown, thick off white head. Aroma is very grassy and chemical with some fruity tangy notes. Flavor is slightly thin, some smoke, graham cracker, malt, smoke, meat. More like a dry stout with a crazy aroma.

have to disagree with the crowd here, to me this seemed pretty much a failed attempt at dry stout.

The blackest beer I have ever seen. It is well deserving of a cool themed name. Small tan head that has good retention and finally ends in a blotchy pattern. Aroma is roasted malt, dark fruit, and cigarette ash. Flavor is harsh ashy smokiness and that dominates. Some bittersweet chocolate is underneath. This is a dry, smoky and bitter beer. Almost no sweetness to be found.

Bottle at Delerium, Bruxelles. Aroma of coffee and chocolate. Hints of smokey malt. Taste is a bit smoked and roasted malt. Some very sweet caramel also. Quite dry and bitter. Some hints of peach also.

Nearly completely black with a very large and vibrant tan head. Aroma of alcohol and coffee. Full bodied. Flavor starts off mild, then notes of milk chocolate come through, then roasted coffee, and finally a burnt coffee finish. Very nice indeed.

Bottle. A malty aroma, some coffee and later also some chocolate. The body is black. The head is beige, lively and small with a short duration. The taste is very bitter, coffee and some bitter chocolate. The finish is long and metallic. A lively carbonation, a medium strong body and creamy-lively.

Parket (569) - Bruges, BELGIUM - JUL 21, 2009
bottle from ’streekproductenwinkel Halle’, black with small and unstable beige head, typical easy drinking stout. Smell: roasted malt, fruity. Taste: raisins, malty, coffee, sweet and grainy.

Bottle in La Bier Circus (Brussels). Light, fizzy body with a nice clear taste. Delicious chocolate/coffee overtones. Could be not exactly in style (?) but still quite good.

Bottle at the rake De La Senne tasting, numerous samples. Alround rating: Roasty chocolate malt, clear roasted barley character, theres some hop notes, herbal and grassy touch resinous, a bit of candy sugar like sweetness(though he said theres not any in it) balances it out and makes it very drinkable. Good carbonation.
