33cl bottle. Appearence - dark brown, nice head. Aroma - dark fruits and good coffee. Taste - torrefied and bit fruity with dry bitter finish. Overall - so good for the strength. Another great beer from Brasserie de la Senne.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Kavu (1589) - Helsinki, FINLAND - MAR 9, 2013
0,33l bottle from the local supermarket. Pours very dark brown with a low head. Aroma is like an ashtray, roasted malts with lots of liquorice. Flavor is pretty similar with a hoppy finish. Very dry indeed. Nice.

Roasted aromas and taste, coffee and a bit of chocolate.
Kinda watery for my taste
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 CanIHave4Beers (2512) - Des Moines, Iowa, USA - MAR 2, 2013
Pours the darkest of browns, with a very large and billowy (but loose) khaki head that leaves a nice lacing on the glass.
The aroma is very straightforward, very stout-y. Fairly rich, mildly sweet, very roasty. Simple but inviting with some chocolate, some un-brewed coffee beans, and a mild chalkiness.
The flavor is classic De La Senne, thankfully I love what they do, but honestly this bares little resemblance to the stouts we here in North America are accustomed to.... Which is indeed not a knock on it at all, just commentary. The beer is particularly dry and bitter it has that more herbal than fruity hop character that I generally tend to associate with styrian holdings... of course that is a guess, but whatever hops they are... they’re certainly a major part of the flavor of the beer. The dark chocolate character is well integrated if not especially pronounced, and the light fruity notes are really quite nice. Lots of times when a beer has a roastiness to it but finishes as dry as this does it tends to have a chalky & unpleasant taste, any judges of homebrew competitions will know exactly what I’m talking about. This one almost goes there, but just stops short... and I love it for that, it’s so pleasantly dry, and so easy to drink.
Really a nice tasting and nice drinking beer, it’s complex enough to sip but dry, bitter, and light enough to have a good number of them in a sitting.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Countbeer (2920) - Best of Eindhoven ohne Brauhaus, NETHERLANDS - FEB 23, 2013
Bottle: Strange thing is that I have had this beer before and thought I hadd rated it. The good thing is, it will get a decent rating from me now than it would have gotten years ago.
Deep dark brown pour. Bigger sized ashy tan colored head which disappears or changes very slow, on top of a very deep dark brown to black colored beer.
Aromas of cacoa, chocolate, some toasted malts, chalk dusty, toasted/roasted herbs and floral nettle/hop tones.
Flavours of roast, roasted malts and grains, hops, something floral, nice bitter tones, hint of coffee, nettle, something light creamy and cacoa.
Aftertaste is good bitter with roast, some bitter chocolate, floral, nettle hops and something light creamy.
Low carbo, soft mouthfeel, good medium to just a lightly bit fuller body and a smooth light creamy texture.
4.5 ABV and a hell of a beer! Balanced, full of taste, light harsher on the bitter floral grains, but smooth.
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 BitchPls (259) - FINLAND - FEB 15, 2013
Cola brown beer with a big dark beige head. Slight roastiness in the aroma. Pretty sweet. Coffee, chocolate, sweet red berries, bitterness. Very very good for a supermarket stout. Not too light bodied and a more complex flavor than usual market beers.

Pours a black colour with a faint off-white head. Aroma of sour fruits, sweet orange and some roastiness. Flavour of roasted malts, bitter dark chocolate, sweet orange, sour fruits, floral bitterness and some floral notes. Medium bodied, slick mouthfeel and low carbonation. Rather sour for a stout, but still good.
