I feel this beer should be classified as a dark IPA. It has a light flavor, medium bitterness, creamy texture, long bitter finish. Toasted malt. Possesses a nice small foam all the way down to the last drink.

Dark brown/black with fluffy lacing light brown foam head leaving drinking rings in glass. Little weak aroma, but a nice bitter coffee taste. Some chocolate in aftertaste coming up. (Brussels 201405)

Bottle (330 ml). Dark brown with a medium mostly lasting beige head and some lacing. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, light plums, light liquorice and Belgian yeast. Taste is also of roasted malt, coffee, light milky sweetness, light plums and light liquorice. Medium body. Moderate carbonation. Slightly creamy mouthfeel. Mild Stout with a good balance and nice drinkability. Tasty. Another good beer by De la Senne.

Dark brown with beige head. Aroma: malt, bitter. Taste: malt, bitter in the beginning but change in the end to chocolate and very strong taste of coffee. I like it very much.

Roast malt aroma with a touch of cocoa. Full flavoured stout, quite dry and bitter. Lots of flavour for its 4.5% alcohol.

Bottle at the Hemmelvart Bier Cafe. Deep ruby, almost black with a good tan head. Coffee notes and plenty of burnt toast. OK, but a little thin and lacking in flavour.

Very dark colour with a small head. Was probably served too cold as the first sips I mainly noted hoppy bitterness almost like an IPA. But slowly roasted malt, coffee notes gained the upper hand. Doesn’t have the watery finish some stouts have. How do they manage to get so much taste in a 4,5% beer? Definitely have to taste it again.

Draft at Chez Moeder, rating from memory: Dark w decent head. Bitter w some chocolate and roast notes. Nice that it is not heavy at only 4.5%, but the flip side is that it can seem a bit light/watery. OK for a stout.
