Dark brown with tan soap suddish head. Hints of ripe fruit in the aroma, charcoal, yeast. Mixed bag really. Low carbonation so thickish texture. Taste is burnt wood, coffee dregs , fag-end (but in a good way) with some sweetness throw in. A mild stout that’s quite pleasant.

Moravius (501) - Berlin, GERMANY - SEP 17, 2014
Flasche (33 cl). - Tiefes Kastanienbraun, fast klar; reichlich dunkelbeigefarbener Schaum.

Bottle. Nose is dominating Belgian yeast, light malt, light licorice, light smoke. Taste is strong smoke leading to hazelnut, light cocoa, touch of vanilla and a lasting coffee and cigarette finish. Mouthfeel is good. A nice stout.

Draft at SIB07. Had that one time and have seen it one other time in a store but it wasn’t all that fantastic of an experience to begin with so I skipped it.

330 ml bottle from Birra+. Very dark red - looks almost black in the glass - with a perfect small, creamy and persistent light beige head. Looks great. Pretty hoppy for a stout, definitely tons of espresso notes, sweet milk chocolate, just a hint of ash/smoke and roasted malts. Wow, I wasn’t expecting such a watery beer. It really lacks a decent body for the style. The bitterness is there and it’s decent, as is the flavour. Coffee, chocolate, perhaps some tobacco as well. Very clean and long aftertaste. Average carbonation, light body, slightly oily texture. I’d have prefrered a propery body, but other than that, no complaints. Nice.

Bottle @ home, picked up at Liquor Max Loveland. Pours a somewhat cloudy, dark brown / black appearance with a big fluffy, dark brown head. The aroma has some licorice, burnt sugar, nuts, caramel, and dark fruit. A little chalky mouth feel. Low sweetness. Moderate low bitterness. Somewhat earthy flavor with anise and dark chocolate and roast. Pretty high carbonation. Seems to me like this should be a foreign stout. Pretty chill brew.

Bottle at GBBF 2014. Pouted black, with a dense tan head. Aroma of grain, caramel and liquorice. Thick mouth feel. Molasses and rum flavours, with some vanilla pod. Finish was ryebred, toffee and burnt malt.
