Bottle shared at a tasting at kerenmk’s place. Thanks Hansen & Zita for this bottle! Black-colored with a beige to light brown head. Aroma of roastiness, some slightly acidic fruitiness, a bit of cocoa and herbal hops hints. Roasty flavor, starts sweetish and malty, continues drier and finishes with some hoppy bitterness. Medium-bodied. Not bad.

From the bottle. Pours dark brown with a creamy, tan head. Aroma is more burnt than anything else. Overall the smell reminded me of an overheated hair dryer and cold, stale coffee. Very subjective as to whether you like that sort of thing in the end. The taste is dominated by the strong roasted notes. Very roasted. Charred malt might be a more apt way of describing it. Aftertaste is bitter black coffee that is a bit on the light side. Finishes lightly bitter. Looking this over now it doesn’t sound all that appealing, but yet I’m enjoying this one. Goes down fairly easy and refreshing for a stout. The taste lacks depth, but remains appealing in its cumbersome, simple sort of way. Interesting.

Apr. ’16. A 0.33 l bottle that poured, I guess, lightly hazy, very typical almost black body with a small brownish head. Fine coffee and chocolate aroma. A bit woody as well. Flavor was lightly bitter, roasted, too with caramel, chocolate, coffee. Medium to full body, creamy on palate. Nice long bitterish roasted finish. Clean, roasted flawless. Great and quite tasty for such a low ABV.

Poor at the nose with hints of coffee and chocolate, very dark brown with a rocky and creamy beige head, light body, medium carbonation, a very simple but convincing taste dominated by coffee and some cocoa...de la senne means quality.

Bottle from Belgian e-shop. Pours dark brown with low tan head. Aroma is intense, strong roasted malts, coffee, nutty, chocolate. Sweet wor-ish aroma. Taste is say sauce, liquorice, very dark caramel. Aftertaste is mainly roasted malts but not very long. Light to medium bodied, light carb. Very intense for the 4.5 abv, very nice brew...

Bottle. Lasting small head. Aroma is mostly roasted, but also some coffee. The same in the taste but licorice and nuts also. Onesided...
