Brewed in Belgium !!! Pours a very dark brown color with a super foamy headt that dissipates in a few minutes. Aroma of roasted malts, smoke, dark malts and earth. Taste is very similar to the aroma with the addition of some peppery notes. Mouthfeel is very thin and dry !!! Overall this stout drinkable, but not exciting.

beige coffee coloured head that disappears quickly without lacing. coffee coloured beer. aroma of roasted and smoked malts, chocolate, earthy notes, coffee but also some ester. tastes like aroma suggests followed by a long bitterness. medium body and quite a lot of carbonation. not bad given the low abv. bottle 33 cl

Sample on draft @ ZBF 2013 Burnt, roasted aroma, coffee, mokka. Dark brown to black, beige creamy head, always a little layer that lasts, lacing. Mokka, not heavy, bittersweet, fondant chocolat. Soft burnt bitterness in the end.

Bottiglia 33 cl Scura schiuma marroncina fine e persistente. In bocca prevale una tostatura leggermente cioccolatosa, comunque non dolce, bilanciata. Ottima! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iFox

33cl bottle from Ølhandleriet, Oslo. Pours black with a beige head. Mild aroma of roasted malt with dark chocolate and hints of coffee, dark fruits and hops with some yeasty notes. Fairly light body with a bit soft carbonation. Moderate sweet and malty with a fairly dry and pleasantly bitter finish. Nice and easy stout that goes down easy.

Bottle, from Dranken Geers, at the 500 miles tasting in the Sham, 23/03/13. Very dark mahogony brown with a thin beige head. Nose is roast malt, light chocolate, mineral notes, yeast, dates and other dark fruits. Taste comprises roast malt, dark chocolate, ash, burnt tones, light smoke. Medium bodied, a little over spritzy in the carbonation, dry in the finish. Ok for a Belgian stout, I’ve encountered much worse in my time!

bartlebier (460) - Baden-Württemberg, GERMANY - APR 12, 2013
33cl - Light-bodied but tasteful Belgian take on the Guinness Foreign Stout tradition with the low UK/IRL-ABV of a duller regular Guinness. All elements are in place: roast and dark chocolate bitterness; somewhat lacking: creamy mouthfeel (OK considering low ABV, makes for more to sample); not sincerely missed: stout sweetness; extra present: distinct De la Senne yeast spice and pronounced earthy hops. - Convincing brew, slightly departing from EU-insular traditions.
