RORO (5), France does not count Oct 22, 2009 une bière tres désalérante, et équilibré il manque un peu a mon gout de houblon aromatique KnN (712), Greenbelt, Maryland, USA Oct 21, 2009 Pours a murky yellow color with a thin white head. Aroma is a really nice balance of grassy hops, a bit of citrus, and some good Belgian yeast character. had no idea this was only a 4.5%. I could drink a lot of this one. Tasty. hotstuff (3175), Indiana, USA Oct 18, 2009 Bottle. Medium sized fizzy white head that mostly diminished, sparse amount of lacing, and slightly hazy with a pale yellow body. The aroma was musty, lightly hoppy, fruity, spicy, and some barnyard notes. Ditto for the flavor along with some bitterness. Mildly tingly mouthfeel and light-medium bodied. I did not care for the flavor of this beer as the flavors just did not come together for me. Something seemed to be amiss. presario (2953), Calgary, Alberta, Canada Oct 10, 2009 Pale yellow with a nice white fluffy head. Hoppy Belgian scent. Aggressive peppery hop flavour. Strong character for 4.5%!! Fuc# the lawnmower I could drink this all day and forget the chores. sfhodense (554), Odense NØ, Denmark Oct 6, 2009 Pours pale yellow with a large off-white head. Aroma is hoppy, citrus and grass. Flavour is light bitter, light malt, light hop. imdownthepub (5084), Banbury, Oxfordshire, England Oct 4, 2009 Bottle conditioned, 330 ml at La Porteuse d’Eau, Brussels. Clouded gold with white head. Initially I found this to be slightly stewed, boiled in flavour, but fortunately a sharp hoppy lemony character showed its head and a much fresher type of beer came through. High carbonation but not the normal cardboard notes. The lasting effect is of a hoppy dry beer which was a good start to the day. minch25 (346), Columbus, Ohio, USA Oct 4, 2009 Gusher. Completely unclear translucent peach color, thick frothy white head. Spicy hoppy aroma. Quite the tasty son of a bitch. These hoppy Belgian pale ales are really wonderful (not to mention underrepresented). Added body from the yeast, but the lively carbonation keeps it from feeling too heavy. This really falls in the delicious everyday drinker category, something that is probably hard to find from Belgium. If only this was not hard to find. Overall, very clean and simple, but so effectively hopped that it’s astounding. If only this was the style of Belgian beer that American brewers would imitate rather than that blasted Duvel.. Ughsmash (3978), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA Sep 21, 2009 11.2 oz bottle. Poured hazy medium golden with a tall, sticky, well-retained cap of white head.. fine lacing.. quite a bit of sediment in there. The aroma picked up fresh sourdough bread and toasted pale malts topped by huge hoppage (floral and orange zest with a touch of white pepper) and fresh yeast.. engaging. The flavor was just as good.. pale malt, bitcuits, and a hint of honey at the core, again with lots of orange and floral bitterness around.. spicy and zesty on the memorable finish. Light-ish bodied and very well carbonated on the palate.. great yeast and use of hops.. I could drink a whole lot of this.
