Warning! Early amateur rating! Smooth fruity start with nice wheat beer like orange citrus and some hop bitterness. Nice.

Draught at ZBF08. Refreshing and spicy aroma. The flavour is dominated by a nice refreshing bitterness. I cannot trace the spices in the flavour. Cloudy yellow colour. Stable creamy white head. Low but OK carbonation. Aroma and flavour do not match, but the beer is nice enough still.

Bottle (33cl) at Plan B. Cloudy yellow - white head. Freshness, citrus, citrus zest, light light cardboard, nice hoppy, light yeasty, low malty. Bitter dry finish. (Smeirlap !)

Bottle, 33cl, thx to JensenTaster. It pours a hazy, orange body with a creamy off-white head. Spiced, citrusy nose with pale malt. The flavor starts with pale malt, then a rather unusual (for a Belgian beer) hoppy bitterness enters and takes control of the tastebuds, all the way into the finish, and staying there for a good while. Medium fullness and quite dryish. As mentioned, it’s sort of unusual, but I also find it a strange one, and actually, too bitter. (080301)

Draught - Bruxellensis Festival. Hazy gold with thin off white head. Hoppy aroma. OK in mouth, some cream. Really hoppy, dry finish, bit like de Ranke XX bitter, but not as extreme

Bottled (BB 12/2008)
Hazy orange color, small white head. Citrusy, yeasty and haysih hoppy aroma. Flowery, aromatic bitter - quite English-style, but is more yeasty than the most of UK ones. Nicely balanced.

UPDATED: OCT 5, 2007 (750ml bottle) Pours a cloudy orange body with a large frothy off-white head. Aroma of orange peel, florals, and citrus. Flavor of malt, hops, and herbs with a dry finish.

(750ml bottle) Large rocky head atop a cloudy apple juice body miraculously not saturated with bits from the cork that broke off upon opening, which itself wasn’t surprising given that beer had seeped through the cork while the beer was resting on its side in my refigerator. Anyhoo.... Aroma is medium sweet, grassy/herbal, some orange, Belgian yeast, spice. Taste is medium sweet, grassy/pine/herbal, some orange, Belgian yeast, light bread. Soft, light medium body with some dryness in the finish. Not sure this should be considered a bitter -- certainly more flavor (and bitterness) than what one expects from the style. Regardless of what style it belongs with, a very flavorful and enjoyable beer, particularly given its low ABV.
