3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Pours out in a hazy golden colour with a rich and dense white foam. Seriously dry Poperinge hop aroma of wet grass, pepper, dryish yeast and lemon-peels. Hoppy flavour of grass, lemon-peels, white pepper and white bread. Not much room for the malts to come through. Bitter and spicy finish of grass, ink and orange-peels. I really dig those Belgian IPA’s.

Bottle, 33 cl. (from KBW) Dark golden almost amber color, good white head. Aroma = yeasty, hops, a touch of fruits, and hops. Good balanced beer. Medium to full body. Taste is yeast, much bitterness, warm, hops, little spices ?, at the end dry-bitter. GOOD BEER !

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
(Draught at Akkurat, Stockholm) Pale golden yellow colour with greenish tinges, slightly hazy, firm white head. Malty nose with grassy hops, lemon and a hint of tropical fruit. Malty taste with loads of grassy hops. Really bitter, mainly dry finish with notes of lemon. Mainly dry, medium body, with a lovely grassy hops character throughout. Not very Belgian in style, but lovely beer.

Masterful simple, soft, easy drinking. Great for lunch. Opaque golden with a white abundant creamy hand and lace. Sweet fruit and yeast in the aroma. Easy medium mouthfeel. Went right to the sediment, which was sourish.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
The body’s a hazy gold with some swimmers and a frothy white head. Nice aroma of tart citrus fruits, lemon, flowers, and a light, funky tartness. Quite carbonated and gassy. It tastes of tart oranges and tangerines, lemongrass, warm spices, and finishes on a bitter & tart note. Refreshing; good for the coming warm weather.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: SEP 1, 2007 bottle sample from utobeer. The guys from De la Senne were on hand to confirm my reaction - hoppy! Loads of hops in the nose with lemongrass and citrus. Taste of grass, hops, yeast and citrus with floral notes. Dry finish. Really crisp. Not my favourite from this brewery, but still fairly good.

Very well carbonated, at least it kicks up lots of flaky sediment from the bottom of the bottle. The head is a frothy, pale tan color (really an off-white) and starts out four-fingers thick; it leaves a nice lacing pattern on the sides of the glass as I drink my way through this beer.. The beer is almost brilliantly clear and is a nice gold color. The aroma is dry, yet fruity with notes of apple, pear, and malt. The malt character smells of freshly milled pale malt, some grassy notes as well as a touch of bread-like character. A touch of spicy, yeast derived, funkiness is here and adds some nice complexity to the overall aroma. As the beer warms a bit a nice dry, biscuit-like and soda cracker note starts to exhibit itself in the aroma.
The beer is only lightly chilled and is quite expressive at this temperature. A nice light to medium body helps this to have some palate coating character. Lightly sweet with malt character coating the mouth. The sweet malt accentuates a nice fruitiness of pears, a touch of apple and even a zesty lemon-peel note of citrus. The beer finishes off with a nice spicy note that must be from the particular yeast strain used. It adds notes of clove, ginger and a biting peppery note (which is also from the carbonation) that really helps to provide balance. Lightly tart in the finish it also has a certain, light astringency; the combination of which cause this beer to finish dry, which is a perfect lead into taking another sip of this brew.
I really enjoy lower alcohol characterful Belgian ales; There are a style that is easy to make bland or boring, but when they are on they make the perfect session beer. I find that beers of this type are best served on the warm side of cool, otherwise you can really miss out on their complexity. This was certainly a pleasant surprise, and a 750ml bottle is the perfect size for a quaff or two.

2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Hazy orange-gold with a large white head. Yeast aroma. The taste had a lot of elements, none of them particularly pleasant. There was some sweetness and a dry finish, held together by a curious fruity, soapy earthiness that really didn’t apeal.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: JUN 4, 2009 Many, many drinkings on bottle and draft. Deep but translucent gold with tall and lasting white head. Farmy aroma of grassy hops, straw, citrus zest. Lively mouthfeel and bitter flavor with just a touch of sweetness and light malt, very dry and hop-bitter finish. Excellent blonde ale with slight farmhouse leanings.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours gold/copper with a white frothy head. Smells of perfume, wildflowers, hay, grass, some dough. Tastes of apples, grapes, light wild hints and subtle hops. Finish is sweet with some hoppy eartiness.
