Bottle. Amberish pour with an ok white head. Malts, sweet notes and syrup in the aroma. Hints of malts and some syrup in the taste. Overall sweet notes. Could use some more body/aftertaste. Anyway, an ok brew.

Bottle from Bier Koning. Hazy brown beer, small off white head. Smooth semi dry palate. Rich malt with an obvious marmite streak. Aniseed and a whisper of smoke in the finish. Not awful but the marmite is a bit much and the boooze obvious. 2.7

Bottle that has been in the cellar for a couple of years. Smooth creamy malt, nicely balanced mellow dried fruits. Smooth finish. No marmite and no obvious booze just a whisper of spice. Much better!

UPDATED: JAN 25, 2013 Bottle @ home. Chestnut colored brew, with fair off-white head, a little layer remaining & some lacing. Aromaís of red fruit and sugar. Flavor is fruity and fairly sweet. Lots of fruit & spices in the finish. Not bad, but I didnít like it much (I remember liking it much more when it was still called Leckere Winterbier, but that was long tima ago).

Murky amber with a thin white head. Sweet ale, walnut syrupy. A bit watery for the strength.

Unclear brew, almost no head... Nice taste and aroma, lots of things going on in there: chocolat, caramel, dark fruits, hops... starts out sweet and ends enormously bitter, very nice... my only complaint is about itís body, i find this beer a bit to light, to lively also for itís dark taste... one of the great dutch beers nonetheless

From tap@ít Arendsnest, Amsterdam. Dense sand-colored head. Body is hazy dark copper. Nutty malt aroma with notes of marzipan and mild spices. Also a fresh whiff from the yeast. Lightly spiced malt flavor. Medium full, medium sweet. A fine fruitiness too, raisins and dates. Noticable alcohol, not disturbing. A gentle spicy bitterness beneath. Texture is thick and oily. Warming, malty finish. A straightforward and well-crafted Belgian Strong.
