(Bottle 30 cl) Courtesy of fonefan. Comes as "De Leckere Winterbier. Pours a slightly hazy amber golden with a small off-white head. Delicious aroma of burned caramel. Quite full-bodied with burned caramel, pumpernickel and roasted malt. Subdued bitterness but heavy on alcohol. More British/Scottish than Belgian really. 041008

the smell of the beer promises more than what you eventually get. I smell chocolate, strawberries, banana and more in the beautiful foam top. it’s a very warming beer. Takes a minute before the effect of a sip has stopped. Alcohol kicks in later and keeps you warm inside. De Leckere is turning into one of my favorite Dutch breweries.

Unclear brew, almost no head... Nice taste and aroma, lots of things going on in there: chocolat, caramel, dark fruits, hops... starts out sweet and ends enormously bitter, very nice... my only complaint is about it’s body, i find this beer a bit to light, to lively also for it’s dark taste... one of the great dutch beers nonetheless

300ml Bottle (Thanks Borresteijn) - Copper with some orangey tinges and a slight haze. Leather, raisins and some earthy notes in the aroma. Fruity, vinous and fairly rich taste with notes of Dundee cake, cherries, leather and marzipan.

Bottled, bought at Mitra. Dark brown color, short head. Aroma of roasted malt, some chocolat and coffee. Taste is good malty, slight sweet, some licorice. Good brew for the winter season, and exceptionally well made for De Leckere!

Bottled from Burg bieren, Ermelo. Amber colored, small off-white head. Fruity nose, caramel, raisins, malts. Very sweet flavor, raisins again, honey, quite complex. Sweet sticky finish. Alcohol is well hidden. Too sticky and sweet to be really good, but one glass is certainly enjoyable, and i suspect it does have aging potential.

Bottle: Medium white to off white head which disappears quick and leaves a thin half open/half closed white to off white lacing on top of an almost clear amber ruby colored beer. Smell lots of barleys like a barley wine, barley malts, some hops, dark fruits, hints of raisin and prunes, hint of iron, some flowers, caramel, light toffee and sticky bitter sweets. Taste is a smooth mix of dark fruits, lots of barleys, barley malts, malts, caramel, honey, some toffee, good bitter, some spices, hint of alcohol, a slight warmth, herbs and sticky grains. Aftertaste is mostly barleys and barley malts with some spicy herbs and alcohol warmth. Low carbo, soft light creamy mouthfeel, full body and a creamy almost oily ish texture. This must be one of the better, if not the best I have tasted from De Leckere (so far)
