UPDATED: JUN 5, 2006 Rerate: tap, de Pintelier, Groningen. After a couple of years i tried this beer again, and it isn’t that bad. But the brewery has changed brewers in the meantime, so that might be the trick. Nowadays, it’s a decent double beer, although it still lacks some body. Originale rating: Nut brown color. This is Gueuze sourness mixed with dubbel malty sweetness. A bad mix i would say. Sourness is not something i’d like to taste in a dubbel.

Dark brown with medium head. Thick syrupy sweetness, some molasses, brown sugar, and a hint of spice. Tried with Paul and Imran at the Arends Nest in Amsterdam.

30 cl. bottle @ home. Brown with an off-white head. aroma is light, some malts and chocolate. tastes slightly bitter-sweet with a bittery aftertaste. A little to watery for my taste and too thin for a dubbel. Not bad but also not really that good.

Bottle that I picked up from a Mitra off licence, Amsterdam, 29.09.11 consumed at Isobels, Eardisley, Herefordshire, 14.10.11 Dark brown in colour with a light haziness, there is an off-white head atop. Some chocolate and a slightly harsh bitterness running through this, a little dark fruit in the mouth concludes matters, its ok but never really excited me that much. A7 A3 T6 P3 Ov14 3.3

Bottle. I’m usually a big fan of dubbels, but this one couldn’t impress me that much. Average dubbel. Nothing too exciting going on with any feature, just a decent beer. Nice to have tried, but that’s it.
