4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 dreamloomer (66) - Warsaw, POLAND - SEP 28, 2010
On tap in Utrecht as De Leckere Dubbel.
Colour of a strong tea, a bit cloudy.
Wine and fruits in aroma.
Very full-bodied, a bit tart, with subtle alcohol and roasty bitterness.
Alll these elements create a perfectly balanced impression.

Bottle. Don’t understand why this beer has such a low score. I really enjoyed this one. Pours a dark ruby red, brownish beer with a good white head. The aroma had hints of dark fruits, yeast, smoke and wood. Taste is the same with some wood, earth and coffee. Great to taste some coffee in a Abbey Dubbel. De Leckere deserves more credit for this beer!!

Dark brown with medium head. Thick syrupy sweetness, some molasses, brown sugar, and a hint of spice. Tried with Paul and Imran at the Arends Nest in Amsterdam.

Bottle at home. Nice dark brown colored beer. Average smell, nice taste and medium carbo and body. Not a bad Abbey dubbel, but nothing really special as well. Decent.

On tap at ’t Arendsnest, Amsterdam on 1 April 2011. Very dark brown with a slightly creamy consistency. Some chocolate in the aroma and flavour. A little spicy with touches of raisiny fruit and some herbal bitterness. There’s some deep, fruity malt here but it’s not too sweet or sticky. A very enjoyable and satisfying Abbey Dubbel type beer.

Bottle, 6.5%. Farty, oxidized, sherry aroma. Not as bad as it sounds, though. Almost clear brown colour, small white head. Thin mouthfeel. Bready flavour, but well accompanied by some sweetness and a little roastedness. Good grainy breadiness. Creamy aftertaste.

Hand delivered bottle by altonbrownd. Pours a nice deep ruby brown with a steady film of a head. Nose of dark fruit and chocolate. Body is medium minus and overall surprisingly refreshing despite all the busy-ness of this brew. Light caramel and fruit mix with malt and a sherry like contingent that peeks at you from about a corner. The finish just tones slowy away. A relaxing brew after stringing half of the hop yard trellis today. Hooray for Martin!

Bit watery. Not much taste and smell. Easy to drink. Definitly not my favorite one from this brewery.
