Cuvee Jeune Homme is an oak-aged bitter beer. Originally it had a slight citrus-bitterness due to its 4 hops and the subsequent dry hopping. It is acidified while it ripens for 4 months in oak wine casks. The daring bitter-sour combination is moderated by this ripening process and as a consequence it is a very pleasant drinking beer.
Ingredients: water, barley malt, sugar, hops, yeast. Re-fermented in bottle.

Bottle. A simple and lovely light sour ale. I found the base beer quite boring but this has a farmyard skunkyness which lifts it into the premier league. Very Jolly Pumpkin.

330ml bottle [longer reserved in pleasant anticipation of an overall five bottle De Leite series delivered by bartlebier]. Clear golden colour with average to huge, thick, frothy to creamy, fairly lasting and lacing, white head. Funky, spicy, yeasty aroma with more than just a bretty touch, bubblegum notes, a touch of hay and piss, vanilla and oak. Taste is dry and tart, slightly bretty, fruit and vinegar acidity, some green apple, a touch of hay; a touch of oak and vanilla in the finish. Well carbonated, soft palate, superbly balanced; mild and discreet.

Bottle. Light golden, hazy, average and mostly diminishing head. Moderate, malty and dryish aroma, light fruitiness and vinegar sourness with light citrus, light notes of wood. Body is medium, malty and dryish - lightly sweetish flavor, light fruitiness and vinegar sourness, light citrus. Finish is average, malty and dryish, faint fruitiness and light vinegar sourness, light citrus and light notes of wood. Lightly sweetish sour ale. Bit thin - finish could use more fruitiness - finish is bit flat.

Bottled. Orangeish golden colour, small white head. Aroma is fruity, citrusy, mild wooden notes along with some slight sourness to it. Flavou ris tart wood, some citrus, caramel, yeast and mild salty notes. Nice spices too. Nice lingering sourness, which could be slightly stronger though.

Bottle: Served in a Chouffe glass: Bigger white foamy head. Hazy darker orange colored beer. Aroma of white wine, grapes, wood, yeast, wild yeast, hint of champagne and earthy tones, some sweet cellar and dusty tints and some grapey fruits. Flavour is tart with some bitters, grapes, wood, herbs, yeast, wild yeast, light cream and some sweet ish dusty ish tones. Aftertaste is grapes, bitters, wood, some herbs, lemon/orange peel and some (wild) yeasty tones. Low carbo, creamy mouthfeel, more than medium bodied. This is a beautiful beer, but should be a Wild/Sour Ale! Well done!

just bought this one and it’s very cloudy but that’s to be expectedd with it jostling around in my bag. 3 finger head very creamy and luckily, not a gusher. It’s a nice cloudy orange. Nose is like a very young blended lambic.Very little vinegar, a lot of juicy pear and apple with some citrus. Taste is pretty sour but not overbearing, I get a little bit of wood at the finish. It has a really good sea salt and mango character. delicious and worth seeking out.

Gold with thin top. Smell of oak. Start is almost gueuze, sour and sweet and then the wood aromas come in too give it an extra touch and some dryness. Long finish for a light beer with all aromas mixed. Well done

Wood-aged beer like their Cuvée Mam’Zelle, but sour. Stable, off-white, loose head, colour a deep peach blonde, hazy. Strong estery aroma, sweet and sour like an oud bruin, overripe peach, pineapple, passion fruit, lemon peel, dry sherry, sweet tobacco, tannins, yoghurt, white wine. Acidic taste, lemony at first, lots of esters (pineapple, red berries, apple peel) on a soft bready malt base, some lactic acidity as well, ensuring a sour dry finish, woody almost like a sweetened geuze. Lacks some of the ’wildness’ and ’funkiness’ of a real lambic, more clean, with the sourness artificially added; not unlike a good oud bruin though, except from the colour. Reminds me a bit of Petrus Aged Pale. Very enjoyable, if you’re into sour beers.
