Very good pink head, leaving lace over clear ruby beer. Smoked cherry nose. Not overpowering, but intriguing. Like old cherry skins on alcohol. Nice, dry, if not sour cherryflavour - but neither artificial. MF has a lipsmacking sourishness then, that is refreshing. Quite some (fruit?)slickness, grist; long fruity aftertaste. Very good non-lambic kriek. Misses maybe just a tad sourishness in order to appeal to greatness. Why not try, and recreate the Zottegemse Kriek from Crombé times...?

330 ml bottle from the Lcbo. Deep red pour, with a small lightly pink head. Aroma is very tart, touches of barnyard, and a deep cherry tartness. The body and carb is good, and balanced. The finish is very tart, with hints of lambic sourness. Loads of great sour fruit, cherries and random berries. The oak ageing isn’t very apparent, does seem to add to the beer, but it doesn’t detract either. A great summer sour ale.

330ml lcbo bottle. Pours an opaque garnet/ruby with a one and a one and a half finger, light pink head that thins but never fades. Aroma has tart, acidic notes of raspberries, hints of oaky wood, and hints of farmhouse funk. Taste is a medium tart that starts with raspberries, then notes of oak, then a touch of cream soda sweetness, then a drawn out, fruity tart ending. Medium body with a high carbonation. Clean in the mouth with an effervescent carbonation and a dry finish. Overall a really nice medium tart beer. Lots of raspberries with well blended notes of oak.

Surprise find at LCBO brings home this fine late summer Friday afternoon beer. Pours pomegranate red with a sturdy cap of cream soda coloured foam that lasts. Full marks for appearance. Nose is funky vinegar. This is a tart slow sipper, not so much vinegar as just a sturdy lip puckering sourness, with an authentic cherry base. Mrs Tiki steals a 1/3 of my bottle & exclaims "it’s like the cherries have wet the bed" while im not sure what that means it kind of hits the mark. Recommended.

Light bodied (would like a heavier palate) with a moderately tangy acidty, overall more dry than lemony. The moderate cherry is good and harmonizes or even gets slightly lost in the sour-dry and lightly herbal tastes.

330 mL bottle. Hazy purple with a thick film of pink head. Sour cherries and a hint of cider vinegar in the nose. The flavour isn’t as big, sour, oaky, or really even as cherry-flavoured as you’d expect. The cherries certainly seem to be real, though, not syrup or extract. This beer is very drinkable for the abv.

LCBO bottle. Pours cloudy bright red with pink head. Nose is sour cherry and vinegar., white wine, some funk and some herbal hops and leather, earthy notes. Tastes like a triple mixed with berries. Tart cherry, some bitterness on the back end fades quick to a mild, sour finish. Really easy drinking for 8.5%, and still complex, but subtle. This is beer for thought.

330 ml bottle from LCBO. Pours a maroon colour with large, lasting pink head. Aroma is tart cherry, oak, leather and a bit of vinegar. Flavour is big on cherry and also has an assertive vinegar note, as well as more subtle oak and leather character. Carbonation on the livelier side. Interesting one.

330ml bottle from LCBO @ Summerhill in Toronto. 8.5% Alc./Vol. Pours a cloudy pinkish red colour with two finger of pink head. Aroma of sour cherries and some raspberries. Taste is sour in the beginning and matches the aroma with notes of rhubarb, and cranberries. Finishes a bit dry and hoppy which reminds you that you're not drinking a carbonated fruit juice.

Poured from a bottle. Aroma is fairly cherry forward with some sour and sweet, candy cherry notes. Some light oak notes with light acidity and citrus notes. A light barnyard mustiness. Faintly medicinal. Pours a hazy, deep purplish-red with a light brown hue and a moderately small, somewhat thin, slightly pink head that recedes fairly quickly to the edges where it lingers. Light lacing and medium small legs. Flavor is moderately acidic upfront with some light citrus and tropical fruit notes. Moderate sour cherry notes with some lighter candy cherry character mid palate. Medium light bitterness with some light oak notes. A hint of alcohol. A hint of mustiness. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a pretty interesting sour cherry beer. Good cherry character with some light oak notes. Acidity is well balanced. Some sweetness.

Bottle, BBE 13/05/16. Pours quite red with a small, white head. Aroma is cherry, sour, some caramel. Taste begins sour, plenty of cherry, cherry candy, some oak, light lavender. Very nice.
