UPDATED: OCT 4, 2014 Gift from wife, she insisted I drink it blind (ie she soaked off the label and insisted I rate it before she tell me what I was drinking) What follows is from my notes: Hazy dark golden with large white head. Spicy sweet yeasty aroma. Taste I also spicy sweet with hints of toffee and earthy dark fruits. Boozy in the middle. Earthy Belgian hop finish with some yeast flavors too.

Bottle @ home. Golden colour, white foam. Lively carbonation. Medium body. Yeasty with fruity aroma. Medium sweet. Bitter aftertaste. Ok beer.

Hazy golden color, stable white foam. Aroma of belgian yeast, bread, tropical fruits. Taste is well balanced, bitterness comes at the end with a warming alcohol aftertaste. Nice tripel.

Alengrin (2110) - BELGIUM - AUG 11, 2014
Beer brewed for a commissioner in Lier since 2008. Stable, sticky, snow white head, golden blonde colour. Modest aroma of sweetish pale malt, grassy hops, bread and green apple. Subdued fruity taste, bit peachy, strong carbonation, simple pils-like main taste, rather neutral, mild hop bitterness in the finish but unfortunately some solvents too. Not my cup of tea, at all.

Een lekker biertje met een goeie volle smaak en een lekkere nasmaak, een aanrader.

Bouteille: Golden, hazy, minimalistic fluffy head, visible carbonation; moderate nose of honey and toasted malt; pretty sweet flavour, medium to full bodied; drier, hoppier and more alcoholic in the slightly lingering finish. O.K., but not too exciting…

Bottle. Amber, hazy, with big head. Huge gushing, half of the beer ended on my desk. Aroma:fruits (peach, apple), bread, alcohol. Taste: Dry with huge hit of alcoholic bitterness. Flavors of fruity liquor, a lot of alcohol with some pleasant peach. Nice body, full, smooth, low carbonation (probably because of gushing), but it is too alcoholic. Not bad, but alcohol is too strong.

33 cl. bottle sampled @ Gollem. Thx! Pours a hazy orange with a solid white head. Nose is slightly metallic with orange peel, other grains, touch alcohol and herbs. Taste is same faint metallic note, touch other grains, alcoholic caramel, slightly biter, touch grass, old exotic fruits. m/m body. Nothing bad but not entirely there either and dull fare at best that blends in with the others.

Bottle at home, 330 ml. Into a tulip, ABV 8% Light gusher as I expected. Golden orange colour on the body, huge white head but froathy, with low retention, leaving spots of lacing around the glass. Aroma is faint and fruity, peaches, yeast, candy sugar. Tastes quite good, caramel, fruity, yeast again, nicely sweet. Some metallic notes on the finish. Medium thin body, low carbonation. Overall more than okay.
