Donkergeel levendig bier met veel schuim. Smaak is zoet en krachtig, licht bitter hoppig, honing, citrus en anijs. Smaak blijft redelijk lang hangen. Erg goed wat mij betreft.

Draugth Muddy orange/blond body. Off-white, creamy head. Excellent lace. Nose of caramel, flowers, honey, hints of hops, ... Moderately bitter, lightly sweet flavour of orange peels, yeast, ... Dry finish (bit astringent). Strong mouthfeel. Ok complexity.

17/08/2011 33cl bottle @ De Karper (Gent) (2011-401)

Cloudy amber coloured beer, creamy yellowish head, stable and adhesive. Aroma: fruity, candi sugar, very malty, bit dusty, some almonds. MF: ok carbon, full body, bit creamy. Taste: very malty, some candi sugar, bit of spices, orange peel, bit of hops. Aftertaste: ripe fruits, some citrus, hops, peaches. Surprised at the low scores, we were with a lot of beer geeks and most of us liked it. Maybe it has aged quite a bit of course, didn’t get to see the bottle.

A Mes rate: Bottle at La Mort Subite, Altrincham.
Bright gold with an excellent white head. Clear Serafijn character with some good sweet yeast, candy sugar, bread, fresh orange and some lovely alcohol notes. A bloody good tripel and the best Serafijn beer I have had.

UPDATED: SEP 30, 2008 Draught Orange beer with slight haze under yellowish head, leaving rings of lace. Citrussy, little point of whtie sugar and just a little spiciness, and a whiff of liqueurish, sweetish alcohol. Sweet, very liqueurish flavour, and despite the quite sweet taste, pretty well-attenuated. Apricots flavour, warming up markedly almondy. Bit spritzy, dry, medium body. Nice variation on the Serafijn tripel (mainly different malts), fairly sweet, but inviting.

Bottle 33cl @ La Mort Subite, Alrincham, Cheshire England WA14 4DN.
Light unclear medium yellow orange color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate malty, moderate yeasty, fruity. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is light alcoholic. Very nice one of the very nice Achilles beers ;o)) (280708)
