Bottle thanks to GRG1313. What the hell are they thinking, wax dipping another corked and caged bottle?! Pours with a near black body with a lasting, fluffy tan head. Aromas are nutty, currant, chocolatey, chalky, cola and smoke. Flavors are smokey, dusty, chocolate, and currants. Lightly sour tinge and some dark fruits. Medium alcohol. Lively bubbles, medium sweetness remaining.

0,75 l bottle, bought in Bierkoning, Amsterdam.
Black one with a delicious creamy beige-brown head. Aroma of roasted grains, burnt wood and dried fruits, hops and oak, dark chocolate. Taste of chocolate, wood, vanilla, some roasted malts, some hops. Soft and well-balanced, smooth mouthfeel with oily texture, full body, soft carbonation. Thanks for the cooperation;-)

Big black with a small, staying, creamy, beige head. Aroma has dark chocolate, vinious, roasted, black currants. Medium carbonation, dry and very creamy mouthfeel. Flavour has dark chocolate, lots of coffee, mild roasted, vinious, dry, quite bitter. Lots of malty bitterness. Elegant, very drinkable.

bottle via boltz 11/25/11. nearly black pour with a small brown head. odd cinnamon aroma...mixed with burnt, choco, charcoal and dark raisiny fruitiness. the flavor shows the same but with more sweetness than ideal... also, there are added notes of molasses, booze, ash and a sour edge on the finish. it’s quite creamy and smooth (though the bottle has prolly been open for an hour or so). 6/4/6/4/14

Bottle, thanks to Jeffo, 03/28/2012. Pours nearly black with large frothy tan head that means business and looks great. Creamy aroma of chocolate brownies, smooth roast coffee character with a touch of woodiness, some mild sweetness with notes of cherry. Taste is less well defined between all the components, with dark chocolate, coffee roast, molasses, licorice, a dry bitterness and alcohol showing in the end. Still, palate is undeniably smooth, and even if a bit thinner than your average de Molen, imminently drinkable. Solid all around, a great treat.

Aroma is a bit spicy, peppery, and creamy roasted almost citrusy malts. Pours thick, dark black oil in color with a dark caramel head. The flavor of sweet roasted malts with a bit of a bitter ending on a medium lightly syrupy smooth body.

Very dark, frothy tan head. Dark chocolate, dark cherries, mocha. Roasted taste, very flavourful balance between bittering hops and full dark malty base. Clearly a high class brew.
