Desverger (1287) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - APR 18, 2014
Bottle (thanks to Papsø) shared with Niller - dark brown nearly black with a reddish hue, and a very thin diminishing tan head. Aroma and taste is complex with mixture of dark roasted malts, both dark dried and berry fruits, caramel, syrup, choc, vanilla, cherry, lovely bourbon and wooden nuances on the palate, smooth warming but not overt boozy, great mouthfeel. Exquisite.

(Bottle, Arendsnest, Amsterdam, 2 March 2014) Dark brown colour, almost black, with foamy beige head. Malty, roasted nose with coffee, chocolate, caramel, rye bread and hints of bourbon. Malty, roasted taste with notes of chocolate, liquorice, caramel, rye bread, lots of oak wood and bourbon, finishing quite sweet with a generous roasty bitterness. Full body with well rounded mouthfeel. Fairly sweet. Quite powerful, but very tasty. Lovely beer!

RW80 (341) - NETHERLANDS - APR 7, 2014
33cl bottle Appearance: Very dark brown with a very small white head. Leaving a hint of lacing. Aroma: chocolate, borbon, wood, cherries, tobaco, rye, roasted malts Taste: Extremely complex, bourbon notes, chocolate, wood, cherries, tobaco, rye, roasted malts, Starts mild seweet then goes over in a much sweet taste which could be described as a excellant Cherry liquor and bourbon filled chocolsate befor rhe wood kicks in the finish. The aftertaste shows various elements of this taste, which is very nice. Drink it to fast and the alcohol warming and taste shows up drink it slower and the alcohol just boost the palate. So please use this as a sipper. thick body, lightlly below average carbonation, syrupy mouth feel. Complexity is huge how much taste can you put in a single bottle. Well a lot according to The Molen/ Närke. The only prolem is it just looks ok. But this is one of the best and most complex beers that I had so far.

javiercrasher (138) - Granada, SPAIN - MAR 30, 2014
Negra con destellos rojizos. Coronada por una pequeña capa de espuma que desaparece rápidamente. Aromas a barrica, licor y vanilla. Cuerpo medio y poco gas. En boca sedosa, con presencia de la madera, fruta madura y bourbon. El alcohol bastante bien integrado se nota principalmente en la boca del estómago. Le falta ser más redonda para ser una gran cerveza

2014.03.26 - de Molen Goths and Vandals - on tap at ChurchKey. This was several days ago so only general impressions. Aroma: I am usually weak at aroma, and worse at recalling aroma, but de Molens are often pretty neutral to my nose. 7/10 Appearance: pretty appealing, about what you expect from the style. Moderately dark. 4/5 Taste: All de Molens are exceptionally smooth for the abv, and often so smooth it's hard to differentiate flavors. Suffice it to say it was yummy and I enjoyed orcas expected. 8/10 Palate: As I mentioned I find all de Molens to be exceptionally smooth. Slick mouthfeel. Hard to see room for improvement unless you really need carbonation. 5/5 Overall: another solid effort from de Molen. They clearly take pride in their effort since they typically remind you that you can age most if their stuff for up to 25 years. 16/20
