Bottle, 9.2%. Very nice grassy hop aroma. Slightly hazy dark brown colour. Small stable light brown head. The flavour is a lot like the aroma. Nicely grassy and caramelly from the hops. Like a good American DIPA, only rounder and milder. Still very flavourful.

Tap at BBF. Dark brown with tan head. Nice caramel nose, with some grapefruit. Lots of grapefruit in the flavour. High ABV well contained. Really nice and much different than the darker brews at the festival.

From the tap on the Borefts Beer Festival 2009 and at the time of this writing from a bottle. This is a very nice combination of the dark sweet bockbier style and strong hop bitterness found in many "modern" brews. The smell is very characteristic DeMolen style, which carries over into the taste. I have had many beers brewed by them, and they all have a certain something in common. Since this is a co-production with Revelation Cat it’s not too typical though. The blending over from the sweet bockbier taste into a decent hop explosion happens gradually as the beer flows across your palate. It is mostly the bitterness that lingers. A very modern style brew built on a solid traditional foundation. Way to go!

On tap at In de Wildeman. Dark brown with a light tan head. Potent grapefruit hop aroma as well as caramel. The flavours are all grapefruit and raisins. Very good, but not much bock character.

Had this at the Borefts Beer Festival, De Molen Brewery, Bodegraven, Netherlands 30-10-09 Wonderful aroma from the hops, chinook and amarillo? Taste is good, lovely bitter sweet combination. Really nice balance to this beer, some dark candy sugars. It pours dark brown with a bubbly light beige head. One of my favourites of the beer festival, lovely, lovely beer. A8 A4 F8 P4 Ov16 4.0

Tap @ BBF. Dark brown color, short head. Aroma of hop, caramel malt. slight fruity. Malty taste and very bitter. This description is probably useless for you, as it could be from about 50% of the beers on this website, but what matters it that it just tastes good :P

Tap @ 1ste Borefts. A dark brown colored beer, with a thick dark beige head. The aroma of hop bitters with several fruits like citrus and orange. The taste is sweet with bitter hops. Als a lot of fruits. In the back there are the hops again. The aftertaste is bitter with some sweets.

UPDATED: NOV 2, 2009 Tasted from tap a few weeks before the festival and @ the 1st BBF, De Molen. Dark brown color. Overwhelming mandarin curacao aroma. Roasty flavor challenged by mandarin curacao. A firm earthy, oily hopbitterness. The abundant aromas and flavors somewhat overwhelm the obvious alcohol notes and make the balance questionable. A taste bomb.
