Papsoe (25088) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - NOV 14, 2009
Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of yespr/fonefan. Pours a cloudy reddish brown with a creamy light brown head. Distinct, fat hop aroma. Medium body only - surprisingly - with caramel and fruit but completely dominated by the citrusy and almost astringent hops. Technically this may be a Doppelbock, but it would probably kill the traditional Bock drinker. 141109

On tap at Borefts I. Clear dark brown beer. Light caramel coloured head. Light smooth palate. Good level of hops - bot overpowering. Retains a pleasant hop through to the finish.

1st September 2010
Bottle. Cloudy dark brown beer, little tan head. Soft smooth palate. Creamy malt with sublte unsweet chocolate. Nice fruity mid - generic fruits that are a little sweet. Dry hop, mildly spicy. Finishes slightly tangy with a trace of tea. A complex Bock - very drinkable.

Draught at Bishop’s Arms, Malmö
Hazy dark mahogany color; the head reduces to some sparse bubbles and partial thin layer. Unexpected aroma: in the front there is a strong apricot jam and mango presence; then, subdued sweaty hops; then again, candies and light banana. Correct body strength (maybe less strong than expected); the mouthfeel is very smooth, there is good caramel flavor, with medium-dark chocolate, enough sweetness to please me, and some rare fruit touch. The bitterness is quite low. The final, nevertheless, is rich, with persistent, sweetish caramel, and finally the correct bitterness from the hops, long and balanced.
What is this? A huge crossover of styles...
Weird but I like it!
