Backlog. Bottle (young) enjoyed Sept. 2008. Very dark color (not quite black). Big uneven head. Aromaís: coffee, heavy roast, acidic, some fruit. Flavor: burnt malts, drop/licorice (not sweet!). Quite strong alcohol feel. Prickly mouthfeel. Finish: ashy, but also mild mocha.

Bottled. Pours deep brown with a medium sized off-white to beige head. Leaving a fair lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malts, coffee, chocolate and dark fruits notes. Solid sweet flavor with a bitter finish and alcohol notes. Full bodied, creamy texture and soft CO2. A delicious impy stout. ★★★★

Thx. to tderoeck (Tim) for sharing this one // 33 cl. bottle sampled @ Timís De Molen & assorted beers tasting // 2011 Vintage /// SSS Triple stout, 9.99 % ABV brewed after a 1914 recipe :) // I love historical porters & stouts + I dig the humour // Black with a creamy mocha head. Smell is of bitter roasted malts, mocha, creamy with chocolate & chocolate mouse, sweet coffee. Taste is mocha, tad light bitterness & roast, choco & chocolate, milky sweetness, tad dark fruits & fruits, chocolate milk & light herbs, lightly creamy with light powder. Carbonation is unfortunately a bit too high, lightly grounded body. // I am diging it, not bad & lightly different for a change.

GUSHER alert! Clear purple brown beer, big beige brown head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: dried fruits, mocha, caramel, sugary, coffee, raisins. MF: way too much carbon, medium to full body. Taste: lots of dark chocolate, cocoa powder, sour from the carbon, alcohol, caramel, bit sugary. Aftertaste: mocha, dark chocolate, cocoa powder, coffee, caramel, bitter and hoppy dry ending.

Very dark brown beer, nice pale tan head. Minerals and lightly roasted malt on the nose. Smooth palate, light and airy. Smooth dark malt, creamy lactose sweetness. Mildly roasted malt. A little hop in the finish, just enough to keep the malt in check. Turns a little sweeter before the creamy and semi dry finish. Delightfully smooth and light Imperial Stout.

[4595-20120706] 750mL bottle. Light smoky plastic roasted fruit malt aroma. Slightly hazy, dark brown red-hued body with a medium-lasting creamy light tan head. Smoked roasty malt flavour has a huge soya aftertaste. Full body. Big and bold and roasty. (7/3/7/3/15) 3.5

Bottle - Pours mahogany with a thin ring of white head. Nose is roasty dark malt, lightly soured, and some cocoa. Taste is all that but subdued...real thinnish with powdery cocoa and roasty malt. Real thin body.

July 6, 2012 - with blankboy, gregclow, jercraigs, mabel & tupalev. 750ml corked & caged bottle c/o j&k - brewed on September 24, 2008 - bottle #475/510. Deep and clear bright refractive ruby with a smallish lasting tan/light brown mottled head (4+). Dry and floral aroma, nice and acidic/funky, nice nutty roast too - yum. Taste is like a slightly funky "big" porter with some lactose and nutmeats - lovely again. Solid malty body, a little acidic, only moderately carbonated, dry, slightly sour cocoa comes out in the finish. Nice one, especially at almost 4 years old.

Bottle almost blew up after opening. Chocolate, molsasses, ash, roasted malts, honey in the aroma. Medium dense at best, lively carbonation. Decent.
