16/12/2011 Bir&Fud Bottega (330ml bottle). Bruna, densa, impenetrabile, schiuma rada e poco persistente.

Bottle, 75cl. A gusher, producing a big, foamy head over a dark reddish brown body. The flavor is on the roasted, bonfire-like side, with some chocolate and coffee in the back. Not much besides the darker aromas to be found. The same goes for the flavor, its quite sweet, with licorice, coffee, chocolate, some alcohol notes and a little bitterness. Full-body, slightly too effervescent. The finish has a pleasant hoppy bitterness. Overall, this is certainly a quite wonderful beer, pity it was gushing. 111229

Bottle. Literally erupted as if it were a prop in a comedy sketch. Soaked the remote control and violated the integrity of an innocent magazine. Managed to fill the glass but foam kept pushing its way out of the neck hole. After the exitement, the remaining liquid poured a deep reddish brown with a (previously discussed) lively tan head. Aroma of roasted malt and coffee. Flavour was leathery with more coffee and chocolate. Some burnt bitterness and some pretty well disguised alchohol. Nice degree of hoppyness and bitterness to finish. I cant really forgive the over-carbonation though. Maybe on a better day this would have been in the region of a 4.

My bottle [750ml] shared with HogTownHarry, tupalev, GregClow, jerc & mabel -- c/o Glouglouburp. Bottled Sept. 2008, #475. Pours a very dark brown with an average size diminishing fizzy tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, light hops, some coffee and chocolate. Flavour of roasted malt, chocolate, light coffee and leafy hops. Medium bodied, creamy mouthfeel. So easy to drink, simply superb.

2012-07-06. Very dark brown black body, nice tan head fades. 3+ Modest aroma of dusty toasty malt, very light roast. 7+ Sweetish dark malt flavour, light roast and toasty malt notes, very light tangy touches in the finish, and a mild roast that lingers. Roast provides just enough bitterness to balance it. 7+ Smooth average plus bodied palate. Very nice. Bottled 9/2008, bottle shared by Blankboy

Nearly opaque, dark brown. Small tan head. Sharp malty, molasses nose - smells potent. Dark berry flavors, followed by roasted oats. Almost a slight hoppiness in between. For the gravity it lists, it actually feels a bit thin. A good stout, but slightly astringent.

Bottle on my birthday. Shared with friends. Nose of caramel and wet leaves. thinner tan head on dark black shiny volume. Carbonation can barely be seen. Body is slick and on the thinner side for an Impy. Finish is oak, black patent tartness shrouded in just enough sugars as to make it slightly sour.
