Very dark brown beer, nice pale tan head. Minerals and lightly roasted malt on the nose. Smooth palate, light and airy. Smooth dark malt, creamy lactose sweetness. Mildly roasted malt. A little hop in the finish, just enough to keep the malt in check. Turns a little sweeter before the creamy and semi dry finish. Delightfully smooth and light Imperial Stout.

[4595-20120706] 750mL bottle. Light smoky plastic roasted fruit malt aroma. Slightly hazy, dark brown red-hued body with a medium-lasting creamy light tan head. Smoked roasty malt flavour has a huge soya aftertaste. Full body. Big and bold and roasty. (7/3/7/3/15) 3.5

Bottle - Pours mahogany with a thin ring of white head. Nose is roasty dark malt, lightly soured, and some cocoa. Taste is all that but subdued...real thinnish with powdery cocoa and roasty malt. Real thin body.

July 6, 2012 - with blankboy, gregclow, jercraigs, mabel & tupalev. 750ml corked & caged bottle c/o j&k - brewed on September 24, 2008 - bottle #475/510. Deep and clear bright refractive ruby with a smallish lasting tan/light brown mottled head (4+). Dry and floral aroma, nice and acidic/funky, nice nutty roast too - yum. Taste is like a slightly funky "big" porter with some lactose and nutmeats - lovely again. Solid malty body, a little acidic, only moderately carbonated, dry, slightly sour cocoa comes out in the finish. Nice one, especially at almost 4 years old.

Bottle almost blew up after opening. Chocolate, molsasses, ash, roasted malts, honey in the aroma. Medium dense at best, lively carbonation. Decent.

0,75 l bottle, shared with friends.
At opening the beer fizz out as a fontana...So pours deep brown with a fine creamy pillowy brown stable head. Aroma of espresso, dark chocolate and cappuccino, roasted barley, candy sugar. Medium bodied one with a fine creamy consistance, very well hidden alcohol. Coffee, molasses and chocolate, huge ammount of roasted grains. Fine!

Wow. This was a big gusher. A lot of foam when opening the bottle. The foam kept comming till I emptied the bottle. Bottled June 2011. And wow. What a bear. Pitch black pour with of course a lot of beige foam. Roasted malts, chocolate and wood in the aroma. A lot of chocolate, wood, roasted hints, coffee, liquorice and some salty hints in the taste. Lingering aftertaste with the liquorice and chocolate again. This is crafted beer. How I love you De Molen! Thank you Menno!

16/12/2011 Bir&Fud Bottega (330ml bottle). Bruna, densa, impenetrabile, schiuma rada e poco persistente.

Bottle, 75cl. A gusher, producing a big, foamy head over a dark reddish brown body. The flavor is on the roasted, bonfire-like side, with some chocolate and coffee in the back. Not much besides the darker aromas to be found. The same goes for the flavor, it’s quite sweet, with licorice, coffee, chocolate, some alcohol notes and a little bitterness. Full-body, slightly too effervescent. The finish has a pleasant hoppy bitterness. Overall, this is certainly a quite wonderful beer, pity it was gushing. 111229
