Bottle@Home. Strong chocolate and coffee aroma, sweet. Very dark brown, beige head, good lace. Very sweet, milk chocolate, some coffee, roasted, sugary, molasses. Bit thin for the ABV. Flavorful but not really complex.

Bottled on May 24, 2013. Consumed Sept 26, 2015. Aroma is chocolate malts and caramel. Taste is chocolate malts and caramel. Head is white and thin. Color is dark brown. Palate is thin, but flavorful and slight alcohol tingle. Very different.

Pours dark with a defined foam head that dissipates. The aroma is of roasted malts, mild smoke, chocolate, booze, and a light sugary sweetness. Tasting, I got mild tobacco, dark roasted malts, chicory, booze, and sugar. The finish has a medium bitterness, noticeable booze, and sugary roasted grain flavor. Overall this was an interesting treat.

2015.09.13-De Molen Triple Stout SSS-11.2 oz bottle in pint glass-Bottled May 24th 2013. Aroma-mild caramel, maybe, and dark malts. 7/10 Appearance-Deep deep chestnut brown, slow forming minimal head, minimal sticky lacing, slight outer ring. Slight dark sediment at bottom of glass. 5/5 Taste-Sweetish front end, probably the caramel malt, gives way to darker taste. I was about to gush that someone does roasted barley the way I like, subtle but prominent, then I look at label and see there is no roasted barley. In any case that is what it tastes like a superb application of roasted barley. It may be the Ken Goldings confusing me. 9/10 Palate-Down the middle, not watery or slick but not thick or creamy either. Kind of like thin to medium body with a thicker body of malt suspended. 4/5 Overall-One of the best brews by one of my favorite brewers. Repeat purchase. Like a light stout (I slammed this) but it’s actually 9.99% abv. 14/20 ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Many thanks to Roman. Nice dry smoked roasted beginning. The beer starts fresh and mild, not too deep. Fresh and malty. Sweetish but not too deep. Round and smooth with caramel-sugar in the background. Smooth, fresh malty-smooth, not too deep. Fresh sugary malty, round but not too deep.

11.2 oz. bottle at home (though I shared a different bottle in 2009/2010 and didn’t enter the notes). Pours a dark cola brown color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have some roasted malts, lots of chocolate, a splash of coffee, hint of anise, the body is very light for an imperial stout, thin mouth feel, flavor is still good.

33cl Bottle. First whiff is very chocolate and fudge forward with a light sweetness over any coffee or roast. Pour is a deep dark red, to brown, but well short of black. small-medium head that dissipates to a small film on top. Taste is immediately bitter with a dark chocolate note. Light in body but high in alcohol warming. This is weird. Like an imperial porter, but very light in body. overall, ok. I guess it is interesting from a historical aspect.

330 ml bottle. Bottled 10th June 2011. From the brewery some years ago.
Black colour with a small frothy tan head. Roasted malt, mild bitterness and some sweetness in the aroma. Airy. The flavour is roasted malt, liquorice, salty liquorice, ashy dryness, mild sweetness and some medicinal notes. Fizzy. Super fizzy. The flavour is very nice but this over fizziness ruins the enjoyability.
