gEUS (1061) - Linden, BELGIUM - OCT 13, 2013
Sample from a 18cl nip bottle - props to Dennoman! Tasted at the BBF13. Pours amber with no head. Hop aroma faintly present in form of slight lime and lemon peel and a hint of peach. Bourbon has taken over control. Taste is quite balanced between the bourbon vanilla and the bitterness. I think a bit fresher would have been better.

bierkoning (10265) - La Tropica, NETHERLANDS - OCT 7, 2013
From nip bottle kindly provided by Dennoman. Amber color. Soft matured tropical fruit in the aroma. Citrus. The flavor is dominated by the bourbon., with sitting next to it the citrus and the remains of tropical fruit. The hop character has faded somewhat, but this is still a very good beer.

JAXSON (528) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 9, 2013
Pours a dark burgundy with a rather large head. Nose is sticky, chewy caramel malt, honey, toffee, a nuttiness. Mouth is quite bitter throughout, sweet malt on the front and dry leafs on the finish. Not much barrel expression other than an odd nutty flavor kind of below the surface, most evident on the longer moments of the finish. Sugars are restrained, get some nice pine sap notes from this. One of the better De Molen barrel aged experimental bottles, which isn’t really saying much.

Draught at København Ølfestival 2010
Hazy amber color, with creamy head. Strange aroma, some apples (?), light oak. Not much Pale Ale, not much Amarillo, but quite nice, even if subdued. Light final astringency. Strange

Beer4000 (4487) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - NOV 1, 2010
Sampled @ Copenhagen Beer Festival 2010. Dim, dark orange with a thin, diminishing off-White head. Pleasant aroma of roasted malt, some vanilla, fruit, bourbon and wood. Flavor is sweet malt, roast, ripe fruit, warming alcohol and quite woody aftertaste. Complex and very nice. I find the hops a bit hidden.
