4.8 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
An excellent blend of sweetness and bitterness. The grapefruit/orange aroma comes off very strong but isn’t overwhelming and compliments its orange/gold appearance. Tried at the Troosts in Amsterdam in Sept, 2011.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
33cl bottle from DeMolen beer store. Bottled on 9/5/2011, shows different hop profile, Sladeck, Saaz and Amarillo.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottled 6/9/2011, bought at De Molen store. Clear amber orange with virtually no head. Aroma is full of soft amarillo notes, very sweet orange and tangerine, ripe pineapple, sweet mango, light caramel malt notes. Very pleasant, cause the hops are not all in your face with all types of fruits, both sweet, sour and exotic, just very focused in the hop profile. Taste is also very focused, very mellow and very pleasant. The hops are dominating, still with these ripe pineapple, mango and orangey tangerine fruits, a very pleasant bitterness, no way near as fierce as it gets in other American style DIPA’s, and the malt profile also stands out as a nice compliment to the hops with bread crust and caramel notes, a slight hint of doughy yeast notes and a slight zing of alcohol in the finish. The carbonation is really soft in this one, which I really like, and it makes the mouthfeel very nice. One of the most easily drinkable and most balanced DIPAs I’ve had. Very focused, doesn’t get overdone in any way, just plain nice.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Nice orange body, offwhite head. Aroma has lots of floral and fruity hops with caramel. Flavour adds little roasted bitterness, fruity though, smooth caramelly maltiness. Oily and nice palate.

Hazzy orange, white and creamy foam. Smell like vanilla cake, spicy, white grapefruit. Medium body. It taste a little sweet, don’t taste than hoppy that I hoped. Creamy taste, caramel, some toffe.Good stuf.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle in a trade from bierkoning - thank you!! Pour is hazy copper, bubbly foam head that laces down the glass. Nose is floral, elderflower maybe, slightly woody, slightly caramel. Palate is reasonably sweet, lots of hop bitterness, oily and thick. Finish is oddly smoky, resinous and very long and bitter. Ok.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
330 ml bottle. From Bodegraven, the Netherlands.
Clear amber colour with small creamy white head.
Fruity/floral mild bitter hops, malt and mild urine in aroma.
Dark fruity hops, not that bitter, toasted malt and a whole lotta sweetness. Sweet bitterness in aftertaste. Soft carbonation.

3.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
0.33l bottle from CrackedKettle. The Amarillo pours a heavy clouded bronze body with a massive fluffy, creamy and lasting off-white head. Aroma is lovely fruity with lots of apples, pears, peach, citrus, grapefruit, sweet malts and a little bit of alcohol. Soft carbonation, quite full-bodied and it has a thick almost chewy mouthfeel. This was really sweet! Probably the sweetest beer I’ve ever tasted. Lots and lots of sweet caramel, banana-sweet, some pine and quite hopy but it’s not anywhere near enough to balance the heavy sweetness in this one. Ends light dry with a long lasting sweet aftertaste. Oh, and did I mention that was kinda sweet? Well, it was.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Very creamy head that eventually laces down the entire glass. Sweet citrus aroma. Very thick, oily, sticky texture. Fruity and sweet at first, plenty of hop presence and a warming aftertaste with a hint of candy.
