Maris (1109) - Canberra, AUSTRALIA - DEC 26, 2011
From a 330ml bottle on 27/12/2011. Pours an extremely murky dark apricot with lots of light yeasty chunks, and a billowing head, due to the excessive carbonation (took quite a while for the head to die down to become drinkable). Has a moderate but pleasant fruity, caramel, honey aroma, which is not over the top by DIPA standards. Flavour wise, it’s very sweet with caramel, toffee and fruity notes. But it’s remarkably lacking in bitterness for a DIPA. I’ve had the standard pale ale with a bigger hop kick. The texture is fairly creamy. Reasonably enjoyable but a long way from being top flight.

(Rating #4025)

On tap. Pour amber red, with a nice bog foamy head. Nice hoppy freshness, with a lot of fruits in the aroma. Really easy drinking

A very hoppy DIPA. Nice color with huge head that stays there for a long time. Grassy, hoppy, citrus aromas and tastes. I love its hops. Only bad thing was that the beer was super carbonated. I am sure it was not meant to be like this. Huge huge carbonation that made it difficult to drink at the beginning.

330ml bottle. Hazy orange with white head. Gives the full amarillo kick. Fruity. Concentrated, balanced, not overdone. Very drinkable.
