Draft on tap at WLV De Molen Event (Chicago, IL). Pours a rich deep copper glowing hue, a touch of haze, rich frothy tannish head cakes well and laces ok overall. Rich deep coloring is alluring. Aromas are rich grapefruit and lemon, touches of florals, grass, and mellow touch of bitter pine. A touch of bready malt, kiss of toffee. Richly grapefruit and lightly gumball nose. Initial is medium bodied, a bit lighter with a firm grapefruit and fuzzy peach feel, a sufficient bitterness, florals, and touches of grass. Mellow bready and touches of pale malts, grains. Backend gives a touch of dryness, spritzy citrus, and floral and grassy hops. Backend gets a touch mellow, lacking the kick of bitterness to linger and assault the palate I was expecting. Good flavors in front and middle, trailing off with a touch of grapefruit juice. Nice.

Bottle. Dark amber with little off white head. Resinous piney aroma, orange marmalade and toffee, something a little earthy. Similar taste, nice toffee, pine and orange marmalade. Nice smooth mouthfeel with a well measured bitterness. Very nice

Very pleasantly surprising. Pours dirty orange, thinnish head. Beautiful initial aromas of mango and grapefruit. Fairly rounded taste with a slight hoppy finish. Well balanced and light on the palate for it’s strength.

Malty and citrus with light melon. Light sweet with mid hoppy bitter. A lot of alcohol, but not too boozy. Good.

Bottle @ home. Hazy, dark burnt orange appearance with a big, cream colored head. Big grapefruity, citrusy hoppy, a touch toasty, a bit spicy aroma. Somewhat spicy, fairly grapefruit forward citrusy hoppy, spmewhat herbal flavor. Fun beer, too bad it’s too expensive to drink on a regular basis.

bottle. heavy candied orange dominates the nose. caramel heavy and sweet throughout. medium-full body, creamy and sweet with round mouthfeel, flavor as well dominated by sugared caramel orange candies. filmy finish with zingy hop bitterness but none of the hops are distinct in flavor. starchy spiced orange and cedar shaving lingering late.
