Great beer, very sophisticated, complex -not difficult- and original, with the hop as the absolute main character. The first you feel is its voluptuous and fragrant aroma: fruity, with pineapple, lychees, maybe grapes and jelly baby touch, warm and full. Impressive, really. The head, froathy and white, is the perfect complement to its magnificent colour: beautiful golden with orangish glitters. In mouth, you can distinguish two phases (maybe it’s the only drawback: the change is too abrupt): the first, very brife, is spicy, citric and slightly sweet; immediately the hop gets in and dominates the overall. Very bitter and longlasting flavour, refreshing and dry, with a peculiar texture between sticky and rough. Anyway, a very original, personal and interesting beer. Great.

Heerlijke imperial ipa met een goede hopbitterheid, een lekkere alcohol warmte, volle smaak en erg lekker afdronk.

Aroma: Fruity smells, peaches, grass, pine needles.
Appearance: A clouded light amber brew, an off-white head, little lacing, and some curtains.
Taste: Very sweet, syrup, bread, tropical fruit marmalade, lemon peel.
Palate: Little carbonation, soft, smooth and sticky, slightly dry.
Overall: Very nice DIPA, a dessert in it self.
Note: Bottle 330 ml, at De Klomp tasting. Reviewed 2012-02-11.

Pours transparent golden orange with a thick white head. Nose is citrus, grass, pine and rock candy. Taste is well bitter. The malt that usually accompanies a bitter is non existent. I don't know whether to count that for or against it. This is more of an IPA. It's excellent. Mouthfeel is crisp and coating. Light body and a long finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Sample from bottle shared with VANØ Bergen. Pours a hazy orange, with a thick creamy head. Aroma is sweet of caramel and toffee, as well as mango and tropical fruits. Body is creamy with a soft carbonation. flavour is sweet with flowers, mango and tropical fruits, before giving way to a bitter hoppy orange peel sticking throughout the finish.

Bottle sample, pours slightly hazy orange with medium white head. Aroma is citrus, some grape, pineapple. Taste is like aroma with some malt sweetness. some alcohol. Nice balanced!

A DIPA that showcases hops but has a lot more to offer. Aroma is juicy with pineapple and orange notes, butterscotch and resin. Pours a hazy amber but doesn’t hold a head. Still a bit of lacing lingers. While the nose would lead you to believe that you are going to get a dry tannic moisture sucking hop profile, the reality is much different. With a strong lightly sweet malty backbone and a bit of tartness in the finish, this beer keeps the ample bright citrus hop notes from taking over. The heroic tug of war between hops and malt that ensues is both stimulating and tasty. And watch out for that 9% alcohol content, which is well hidden. Very well done.

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines, Birmingham. Smells very delicious whilst being poured, but seems a mite more muted in the chaleeeece. Someone has perfectly described it below - wet; as in not as bitter as you would imagine. Generally a little easier drinking than I expect my DIPAs to be. More like a delicious IPA. Nice, with only a minge of burn to complete.

Woah. Different. Honestly wasn’t quite sure what to think until I got more sips in than usual. For an "IPA" it’s very wet. Sweet pineapple malts galore. Wet through the body, and finishes with a spicey tamed but loud enough bitter note. Fair amount of bread and butterscotch throughout as well. Not mindblowing, but damn good.
