3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Poured with a huge head by the bar tender, way too big for the style. Slighty tan head nevertheless. Murky, dark brown orange color. Big grapefruit hop aromas, light tinge of malt sweetness in the aroma as well, caramel come in but the hops really shine. Hops are a bit soapy in the taste, slight citrus. Viscous and oily, but very spritzy carbonation,. Decent enough.

UPDATED: OCT 2, 2011 Brown/Reddish appearance, huge head on the beer. Nose: grapefruit. Quite balanced bitterness. Full bodied beer. 3.5
Re-rate 02/10/2011. On tap @ De Molen - tulip glass. Pours dark orange/amber with an egg shell head - quite persisting (no carbonation left). Marvelous nose of caramel, grapfruit and some exotic fruits. Taste is massive and is in line with the aromas. Bitter and sweet in perfect balance. Niiiice!!

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from Vinmonopolet in Valkendorfsgate, Bergen. Absolute monumental gusher, this one had a near-exploding cork just waiting for me to touch the metal wiring and then BANG! Luckily I managed to get most of it into a ready glass, revealing a huge, foamy off-white head looming over a dark, cloudy orange-hued brown body. Smell is earthy hops, with hints of vanilla and raspberry beneath a shimmer of potato and cellar aromas. Quite nice. Taste is not quite as good in my opinion, with boozy notes of licorice, potato and hints of dark malts and syrup. A bit harsh on the palate, but this may be attributed to the fact that Iíve been on the wagon for almost a week since I got back from reveling in far too many Łber-beers in Belgium on vacation. Still, this is a pretty crafty beer, and while it is not among my favorite DIPAs itís definitely one to be reckoned with.

330mL bottle. Pours murky nut brown with a huge and long-lasting cream coloured head. Strong aroma of pine with some and passionfruit and other tropical fruit with some earthiness in the background, alcohol when the head settles. Medium sweetness and bitterness, some honey, caramel and earthy flavours. Medium bodied, lively carbonation and a bittersweet finish.

Bottle. Huge head on this. Took about five minutes to pour. By then it was a very murky dark brown. Huge tan coloured head leaves plenty of lacing. Not the best looking beer unfortunately. Big amarillo hop aromas with heaps of tropical fruits. Good stuff. Flavour is definately dominated by malt. Plenty of biscuity malt seetness and light caramel. The tropical fruits do come through but certainly do not dominate. Finish is bitter but not overly so. Some resiny hops hand around on the finish. Mouthfeel is quite full. Good but definately not outstanding.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Huge white head upon pouring. Very carbonated! Nice orange/pineapple/graperuit and pine on the nose. These flavours continue once you put it in your mouth, but a nice malty undertone keeps the whole thing going in a straight line. Pleasant, strong bitterness lingers for a while. Very good.

Deep golden with a small bubbly head.
A lot of pineapple in both aroma and flavour; a bit like pineapple-juice.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Nice aroma of floral, fruity and resinous hops. Cloudy amber pour with a medium offwhite head. Flavor of floral, resinous, fruity hops with toasted malt. The body is strudy enough to hide the alcohol, it felt more like an IPA than an Imperial IPA in that sense.

Served from a bottle to a Unibrou tulip glass
First of all, I had a major gush opening the bottle, then serving the beer I spilled some more in the floor, it gets a huge head when poured so be careful.
Appearance: It a turbid dark amber with sediments on it, donít get me wrong itís a very inviting color.
Aroma: It was a very aromatic beer, just opening the bottle there was a rush of fruity smells straight to your nose, I got hints of peaches, tea and pines.
Palate: it is a full bodied beer, very effervescent, a little bit warming from the alcohol (the alcohol flavor itís not overwhelming at all), the aromas are representen in the palate as well.
Overall its a very inviting beer that I will repeat again, very fresh and refreshing as well that leaves you with a good buzz. Recommended

Bottle marked ht 04/04/10. Pours with a hazy golden body and a small white head. Aroma of caramel, brandy, faded hops, herbal and marzipan. Taste is bitter, faded hops, brandy and caramel. Has stood up well, but is no longer a DIPA. More of a barley wine.
