3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours a hazy burnt orange color with a two finger off white head. Head dissipates slowly and leaves a blanket of lacing. Lots of carbonation coming off the glass. Smells of tons of grapefruit, blood oranges, floral, grape, raspberries? A wine-like smell. Little bit of breadiness and carmel coming through after the initial bitter fruits smell. A musty, earthy smell as well. This beer is almost a year old and the amarillo hop presence on the nose has still not gone away. Taste starts with a moderate hop presence that brings grapefruit, orange, grape, maybe some passionfruit. Leaves you wanting more on the front. Then get a nice dose of breadiness along with some carmel sweetness from the malts. Then comes back with more grapefruit, grape, orange, grass. Decent bitterness, but almost get a watered down sensation on the finish, as well as some booze. Get a good amount of sweetness on the finish as well. Low full body with a sticky and creamy mouthfeel. There is something definitely missing here. The age unfortunately showed and took away from the hop bite. Some IPA’s from overseas can really be great, but the high price combined with the lack of freshness is really starting to push me away. A fresher bottle could change my mind, but there is just something lacking here.

Deep orange gold body, dense white head.
Hop driven aroma - bitter orange, cut grass, toasty malts, biscuit, caramel malts in support.
Slick texture, big, somewhat rich, smooth carbonation.
Bitter citrus hops continue on the body - marmaladey, grapefruit, pine sap, slightly herbal, sweet biscuity malts & caramels. Firm lingering bitterness, warmning finish.

Sampled at Lentebierfestiv 2016 in The Hague. Clear amber with a medium height white head. Malty sweet and medium to full bodied with notes of pine and citrus hops, as well as unripe mango. Very well done, one of those well made malt-forward IIPAs.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle, listed as "Amarillo" so I know it isn’t fresh. Hazy deep golden body, soft white head. Sweet sticky malts, honey and cooked pineapple, moderate bitterness, a touch boozy. Too sweet for me.

Flaska. Nästan lite spritig i doften. Här förnimmer jag kola o hubbabubba i doften. Smaken är god till en början för där är sötma, frukt kola men sedan i mellanregistret finns en tråkig lite spritig ton. Beskan på slutet är i världsklass. Mmm god

Keg, under Amarillo, RedChurch brewery, De Molen tap-takeover with John Brus, 24/3/2016.
If any brewery deserves an award for most-improved imperials then De
Molen should get it. Seriously intense impressive usage of dry-hopping and late-hopping. Super dank. Super resinous. Super bitter. Super clean.
Thoroughly enjoyable dank imperial IPA. Just as good as the shit on the East Coast of the USA. Whatever new technique has been implemented over the past couple of years is definitely a worthy investment. Utterly awesome. Wow.

Sweet aroma of tropical fruit, peach, grapefruit, caramel malt, pine needles, grass, light spice and soap. Pretty good.

IPA-ish? Wrong. This is a fabulous IIPA. Aromatic like fresh grapefruit. Full-flavored. Delicious to the last drop. Thank you sir, I’ll have another.
