Ober (307), Best, Netherlands Feb 18, 2008 Updated: Mar 13, 2008A very nice red/brown colored beer. It’s hell. It has a beige head, which disapears after a few moments. The aroma is first of all hop and some fruits. The taste is also a lot of hops, and bitter. In the back there are some fruits, like grapefruit. The taste stays for a while in your mouth. It has 9,2 % of alcohol, but that isn’t emphatic there. This beer is a very good beer, I think not only for the winter. Unfortunately it’s a one time brew. But I’ll hope, they gone brew it regularly.
gioni (14), Nieuwegein, Netherlands Feb 9, 2008 i had this beer on draft at the brewery and at home in the bottle it was more tastfull then i ever expected. realy , realy good beer. (wish i had more) Ughsmash (3004), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA May 29, 2008 Many thanks to Edo for the bottle! Poured brilliant coppery amber with a huge, fluffy cap of beige head that stuck to the glass.. rising carbonation. The aroma leapt from the glass, showcasing bright fresh pineapple, pine, and juicy grapefruit.. caramel and toffee backed it nicely.. the final impression picked up sweet floral notes. The flavor had a deeper, darker fruity core paired with fresh, sweet toffee.. hops again steal the show, with floral, cat pee, and pineapple forming a juicy complement to the maltage.. finished with seemingly fresh-off-the-vine cat pee and floral bitterness. Heavy-ish bodied with lower carbonation (guess a lot of it left through the head).. great balance. This was a great example of what you can do with Amarillo! iep (228), Amsterdam, Netherlands Jan 29, 2008 Crisp & dry IPA that looks great in the glass, with a rocky head and dark copper body. Has some caramel flavors but it doesn’t become sticky like many other heavyweight IPA’s. The finish was spectacular; chameleon-like, drying out in the end, leaving a beautifully oily Amarillo taste lingering. This was light on the palate (again, not cloying like many other IPA’s). Balanced, complex, good length. Great IPA! goldtwins (3734), Nesconset, New York, USA Mar 8, 2008 Bottle. Poured a lightly hazed copper color with a large off-white head. Herbal, floral and minty aroma. Also some citrus hop notes mixed in. Citrus hop with caramel and fruity malt. The aroma and flavor had odd characteristics but both were a nice change to the ordinary and being pretty tasty helps. Medium body with some warmth in the chest.
