3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 JorisPPattyn (6728) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - JUN 25, 2008
Draught Good yellowish, very fine head, leaving some lace over fully hazy amber-straw beer. And now for Amarillo jumping out of the glass, with a background of slight malt sweet, and dry hop bales finish. Very good nose. Soft citrussy hops in the taste, with lemonpeel, grapefruit and many yeasty esters. Thick, yeasty-creamy MF, medium bodied. Sample maybe too shaken (newly opened keg). Good, very aromatic beer, but ending a bit thin in the palate.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Grovlam (4108) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - JUN 20, 2008
Bottle. [After party @ Papsoe, thanks buddy] Average creamy white head that mostly lasted. Good display of lacework. Light cloudy golden color. The aroma of Amarillo came out with notes of dusty mild pine, apricot and light grape. Over the palate came lovely dusty sweet hoppy feel. Mild fruity and caramel notes. Medium bodied with an average carbonation and light dry texture. Light to moderated sweet and light bitter flavor. Dry and dusty hoppy like sweet apricot finish. Quit nice.
