Bottle at Århus Ølfestival. Cloudy amber coloured with a small off white ehad. Fruity aroma of hops and pine needles with notes of caramel and spices. Sweet and hoppy flavour of fruits and caramel with notes of pine needles. Dry hoppy finish.

For being a bitter it’s too hoppy. More IPA than bitter, that’s sure. Though I’m not a great fan of Amarillo hops, I found this beer interesting and enjoyable.

Draft at Blue Monk, Buffalo. Maize colored pour. Mild bitterness, light peanut shells, lighter flavor. Ok

Pours a light hazy copper with an off-white head, good retention/some lace. Aroma of dank citrus/grassy hops, light biscuit. Taste is quite bitter, citrus, passionfruit, very light biscuit malt. Palate is thin without being watery, oily, soft carbonation, bitter finish. If it weren’t $10/glass stateside would make for an excellent session beer.

Ottima birra! retrogusto amarissimo e secco nonostante i pochi IBU. La bassa gradazione e il poco utilizzo di malto fanno risaltare decisamente l amarillo usato. Nel complesso è sicuramente piu amara di molte IPA.Veramente soddisfacente per chi ama le birre amaricanti !

From bottle at tasting arranged by Sällskapet Malte in Feb 2011. Hazy light orange brown and sediment in bottle. Almost no head. Distinct citrus/hoppy aroma, lightly malty with a hint of resin. Defined citrus in the remaining bitterness. Something for the Amarillo lover.

Bottle (33cl) from Meny (Oslo City). Inch-thick creamy offwhite head, good retention, settling as a thick ring with a band of lacing. Hazy amber/orange colour. Lovely aroma of fruity hops with grapefruit, passion fruit, orange zest, yeast. Well-balanced bitter-sweet taste, with a growing bitterness towards the finish. Soft carbonation, light/medium body - a bit thin finish, but overall highly enjoyable.

Bottle from Meny Oslo City enjoyed at home
Pours copper hazy with a big white head that lasts and lace wonderful. Smells of grapefruit, citrus and some herbs. Light malty taste, good suportive sweetness and some fruity tones. Still a quite strickt malt based flavor. Light to medium bodied. Finish has a very nice hoppy bitterness. Not typical hops for the style, amarillo hops all the way. A real citrus treat this. I really like this beer and it sure is a good session beer. Still i feel the american hops takes it away from what i like to call a bitter.

Molto buona! Ottima davvero.
