330ml bottle. Pitch black colour with some dark brown bubbles, reawakening head leaves a lasting, minimally lacing, thin layer. Intense dark malty aroma with a plethora of whisky notes, leather, peat, shoe polish, vanilla, oak, hints of treacle, and a mustard-honey mixture. Taste is moderately sweet dark malty, hints of treacle with additional BA notes like vanilla, peat, leather, in the finish some bitter hop comes through; oily texture, flat carbonation, sticky palate. Finally an Impy Stout with enough character and backbone to perfectly integrate the BA flavours.

Bottle. Pours oily black with brown head. Nose and taste of peat, smoked chocolate malt, roasted chocolate, campfire ash, smoked whiskey, charred wood and smoked nuts. Full bodied. Alcohol hidden mostly by smoke and char.

Black pour, brown head. Aroma is intensely sweet. Whisky, peated malts, roasted barley. Taste is sweet aswell, with alot of smoke. Loving it.

Bouteille 33cl, bottled 07-09-2012 pleine à ras bord.. Brune foncée presque noire, col léger café au lait disparaissant vite et ne laissant aucunes bulles. Dommage car cela nuit au visuel de la bière. Arôme tourbe, malté, chocolaté avec un alcool qui se fait tout de suite présent. Le chocolaté reste bien présent couplé à un tourbé certain sans pour cela dominer. Palais reste aussi ici bien tourbé, épais et réchauffant avec un malté caramel, chocolaté sur une pointe de grillé. Effervescence est moyenne voire faible. Profil est typique des single Islay. Palais garde une pointe de citronné se dégage toujours sur ce côté tourbe léger. Au final la bière reste un peu monodimensionelle ce qui est dommage considérant la complexité du Bowmore. Les 15% jouent ici en défaveur de la bière avec une bouteille de 33cl qui est bcp trop pour ce type de volume.

UPDATED: APR 27, 2013 Black headless pour. Taste is sweet and bitter with roasted malts, chocolate, wood and whiskey. Low on carbo. Good stuff.

Bottle @ home. Pitch black pour, no head. Aroma of bourbon, ash, tobacco, wet cigar, molasses and burnt malts. Flavor is a bit alcoholic, roasted and bitter burnt malts. Thick body, no carbonation but a smooth texture. A bit rough and out of balance but intriguing.

In bottle. Smells and tastes like strong molasses and green grass. Ends bitter like andives. Very high alcohol content.

Black, no head, some brown bubbles. Aroma and taste of coffee, tobacco, whiskey, peat, hop. Thick oily body and quote some carbo. very nice.

Gitzwart van kleur en nul schuim. Aroma is zoetig met whiskey, caramel, vanille en tabak. Smaak van whiskey, vanille, rook/as en koffie. Voelt nogal dik aan, zonder koolzuur. Niet mijn ding. Voelt als moeilijk doen om het moeilijk doen. Aldus Huubs. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft at De Molen tasting. Pours black with a light brown head. Aroma is sweet with roasted malts, some whiskey and not much alcohol surprisingly. Taste is sweet with roasted malts, whiskey and molasses.
