Bottle shared in London - many thanks to Colin. Pours black-brown with a creamy, tan head. Heavy peat in the aroma with some chocolate, modest roast, dark fruits. Medium sweet flavor with rich, intense smoke, burnt bacon, earth. Full bodied with fine to average carbonation. Fairly chewy. Warming on the finish with lasting peat, smoke, black pepper, scorched earth, light cocoa. Pretty OK, if a bit heavy on the peat.

Bottle split at the Manny G tasting, from De Molen shop, 28/06/14. Black with a moderate tan swirl and edgeing. Nose is big roast, spice, barrel aged effect, peated whisky, molasses, dark chocoalte, smoke. Taste comprises earthy minerals, smoked gammon, spice, dark and peated maltings, salted caramel, liqourice, whisky pangs. Full bodied, fine carbonation, light booze and some coffee grinds in the close. Decent enough peated whisky impy, drinks well for the ABV which is well integrated.

Bottle thanks to Colin. It pours darkest brown with a small tan head. The nose is rich, roasty, vanilla, candy, coconut, earth and bowmore. The taste is rich, bitter-sweet, roasty, coffee, mild acidity, earth, cocoa, dirt and filth with a dry finish. Medium-full body and fine carbonation. Rich and filthy. Ok.

Pours pitch black with a tan head. Aroma has notes of roasted malt, chocolate, caramel, licorice, alcohol, whiskey and oak. Taste is medium sweet and light to medium bitter with a long warm, whiskey, chocolate and licorice finish. Body is full, texture is oily to sticky, carbonation is soft.

Sample at Haand 2014
Black, tanned/brown head. Smell of liquorice, smoke, tar, oak, roast and lots of islay whisky. Heavy sweet, more smoky islay whisky, more roast and coffee accompanied by tar, harbour and peat. Heavy bitter finish that manage to bite off some of that whisky flavor. Complex and rich; just amazingly good. Very good stuff
