Bottle at home - last of the night, from the De Molen shop, 02/1o/13. Pours light black/dark mahogony brown with a thin tan swirl for a head. Nose is dark fruits, booze drencged oak, brown sugars, dark toffee fudge, bourbon notes, dark berry fruits, cocoa. Taste comprises light oaky bourbon notes, tangy dark fruit, tobacco, muscavado sugars, dark toffee notes. Full bodied, fine carbonation, sweet but not overly so in the finish. Nice impy, good balance not too boozey or sweet and the mouthfeel is pitched well - good work!

Bottle, 33cl. A clear looking dark brown beer, next to black, and topped by a small, beige head. The aroma has a funky twist, with roasted malts, coffee and some berries, molasses and sourness. It’s full-bodied and lightly warming, with a soft carbonation. Soy sauce, caramel, roasted matls, molasses and a funky touch in the flavor. Lasting finish. I like it, but I’m not impressed. It sort of doesn’t impress, even though there’s quite a few nice things going on. 130928

Bottle 330ml @ Geokkjer
Pours clear dark amber brown with a few bubbles. Aroma has notes of roasted malt, chocolate, oak, alcohol and dried fruits. Taste is medium sweet and light to medium bitter with a long warm, roasted and chocolate finish. Body is full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

Bottle from ABC Beers, Den Haag. Poured a deep mahogany with a thin off-white head. The aroma is rich fruit and alcohol and I swear there was a hint of vinegar too, which surprised me. The flavour is medium to strong bitter with a big fruit and alcohol, liqourice palate a super big beer with loads of flavour.

330 ML bottle Dark cola color, little to no head. A tan collar mostly. Nose is milk chocolate, caramel, coconut, vanilla and some oak. Lots of barrel notes. Taste is quite sweet. Lots of sweet caramel, vanilla bean, sweet chocolate, and sweet roast. Sweet feel, slick and sweet. Low carbonation. Nice but needs to be thicker and more roast ot offset the barrel compnent

Bottle from Ale & Hop, Barcelona. Dark brown cola, beige small head. Amazing aroma of marcipane, oranges, chocolate. In the mouth the same flavours, lovely vanilla and marcipane, touch of tart fruit. World class.

Bottle. Poured very flat. There’s a lot of the barrel taste in the stout. Chocolate, roasted malts, a small amount of sourness. Good but needs some carbonation to make it great.
