Bottle from Planet B, Rotterdam, Netherlands, consumed at Frank (camper) Pickets Lock campsite, Ponders End, Good Friday 3rd April 2015 Really fruity jam like nose, like when you are cooking jam, Loz gets spicy raisins and she is also correct a swirl in the glass and you do get that. Doesn’t taste like an Imperial Stout at all to me, Loz reckons it’s a bit boozy. I like it, but not sure how to categorize it. A7 A4 T7 P4 Ov14 3.5

Shared bottle. Dark brown with very small light beige head. Marzipan, speculaas, mocca, rye bread, raisins, Porto wine, light yoghurt, light boozy. Quite sweet. Medium bodied with slight sticky feel and low carbonation. Nice stuff, almost more barley wine than imp stout.

330ml bottle (thanks FatPhil). Very dark brown color. Tiny size, bubbly beige head, disappears. Raisins, malty, fruity, sweet notes in aroma. Sweet, roast, malty, berries, mild road in taste. Soft carbonation. Full body. Nice one!

UPDATED: APR 7, 2015 Pours different than I expected. More of a brown ale look to it. Interesting beer. So many flavours it hard to narrow down. Bourbon, caramel and fruit dominated for mine. Great beer but just a bit sweeter than I prefer

330ml bottle (?, ?)
Pleasant roast at first, some nice vanilla, hint of coconut, and later some banana strings. Deep red, a bit pale for an impy to be honest. Remarkably watery palate, OK, it’s a bit sweet too, so not watery /per se/. A tiny drible of the cloudy leftovers did actually fill the palate out a little. Again, a pleasant light roast, again vanilla, some banana, and a bit of coconut again. No sign of 10.6%, it’s not even 7%. Finish has lots of banana as well as the bourbon. Nice, but to be honest

Shared at Ale House. Bottle, from me, thanks to madmitch76 the original Essex legend! White lacing and opaque colour. Swiss white chocolate. raisins, vanilla, licorice, tar, panetone cake, Bourbon, cola in the finish. Also blackcurrants, oak, caramel, toffee, chestnuts, sweet marzipan sugar. Booze. Nice!

Bottle share at Bruce’s birthday drinks craft beer co. Many thanks to Leighton. Caramel brown coloured pour with a fleeting head. Aroma is salty, warming booze, rum barrel, coconut, vanilla. Flavour is composed of plum, caramel, sweet, vanilla, cherry pie, oak, unrefined sugars. Palate is full and semi sweet, moderate carbonation. Umami. Little plastic.

Scopey (8329) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - FEB 6, 2015
Bottle thanks to Leighton. It pours deep red-brown with a small, bubbly tan rim. The nose is toasty, earth, big umami, sticky sweet, chinese pork, plum sauce, earth and toast. The taste is light roast, wood, toasty, alcohol warmth, umami, duck & plum sauce, booze, sticky, dark fruits, toffee and vanilla with a hot finish. Fullish body and fine carbonation. Not sure if the balance is quite there. A touch hot, but decent anyhow.

UPDATED: FEB 8, 2015 Bottle shared at Bruce’s birthday - picked up at Kris Wines I think. Pours clear brown with a bubbly off-white head. The aroma holds ripe berries, raspberry, some creamy toffee, bread. Big sweet flavor with lots of rich sugars, syrupy fruits, berries, bread, mild caramel, low bitterness. Full bodied, lightly chewy, with fine carbonation. Finishes sweet, mildly boozy, with more ripe and sugary berries, faint earthy bitterness can burnt bread. Novel stuff, pretty tasty. Imperial stout? No. More like American strong or something. Almost no roast, no chocolate, minimal bitterness. Still, tasty.
