Bottled. A dark golden beer with a yellowish head. The aroma has notes of coffee, grapefruits, and chocolate. The flavor is sweet with notes of hops, flowers, malt, coffee, and a bit of chocolate, leading to a very bitter, hoppy, and coffee finish.

On tap. Pours a cloudy opaque amber with a dense off-white head. Spicy chili-like, ashy nose - coffee of couse! Fairly light body, a dry fruitiness and again this coffeeish spicyness. The finish is dry. Actually quite fresh and quenching for what it is. 011011

Draught@SBWF2011. Hazy orange colour, huge off-white creamy head (due to problems with tap preassure). Aroma is very chili like (lots of coffee?), malts and some slight hoppyness. Flavour is coffee, malts, fruits and some slight spicy notes. Apparently it’s the coffee giving this one a quite spicy burning aroma.

Bottled at Monk’s Café Wallingatan, Stockholm. Hazy amber, near no head. Strong coffee and bread aroma (breakfast, indeed!). Mid sweet with light body and clean, rounded mouthfeel. Salty bitter finish. The strong coffee flavour dominates, clean crystal malt character reduces drinkability.

Draft @ Mikkeller Bar, Copenhagen. Pours a hazy orange color with a small off-whit ehead. Has a fruity malty spicy hoppy aroma with weak hints of coffee. Dry malty spicy hoppy chili? flavor. Has a dry malty spicy hoppy finish with weak hints of coffee.

Bottle from Bier Koning. Solo hungover tasting in my hotel room! Hazy gold - amber beer. Residual white head. Light dry palate. Pale malt with coffee. The coffee is a little roasty and very slightly smoky. The pale malt is quite strong. Trace of orange hop. Finishes semi dry and crispy. A different take on the Pale Ale Coffee style by the use of an aggressive coffee addition.

Draught at Mikkeller Bar, Copenhagen
Cloudy amber color, with too much carbonation (it has been painful to pour it in the glass), producing a giant head, compact. Aroma of re-boiled coffee (dusty), spices (pepper and coriander), nettles. Very dry mouthfeel, allowing the coffee to blend correctly, although to me this is burnt too much; there is a spicy side, and nothing else; correct bitterness; very ashy. Not wrongly brewed, but it’s just an idea that I don’t fancy.
