Bottle. Marketplace Alehouse and Deli, Doncaster. Clear, very dark red. Big, foamy, lasting, pale tan head. It’s tart, vinous, and has light roast. Taste is tart, lightly sour, roasted malt. Comes across quality, dark chocolate. Palate is smooth, despite being a bit overly carbonated. Alcohol is evident. Finishes tart, dry, and a little burnt bitter. Once the carbonation calmed down, I liked this a lot.

(De Molen Bitch Black) Bottle 330 ml at home, poured into a tulip glass, ABV9.5% Dark brown colour on the body, more than two fingers tall head, thick, beige in colour, with great retention, leaving spots of lacing left on the glass. Fruity aroma, pear, brie, pepper, faint roasted malts. Taste is also fruity, dark ripe fruits, prunes, roasted malts, smoke/peat, pepper, yeast, well hidden alcohol. High carbonation, medium body. Very good and interesting.

Bottle 33 cl. Pours a reddish, nutty brown - almost clear - with a frothy and lacing beige head dissipating to a deliciois, creamy cappuchinoish layer. Is that peat in the nose?? I believe it is - gee....Heavy roast, peat and minerals. Medium body, dry and roasty with a solid bitterness. Heavy on the carbonation, bitter and roasty finish. A very unusual Saison. 090914

Bottle 33cl. Pours pitch black with a big beige head and an aroma of yeast, liquorice, roasted malt, overripe fruit, spices, dark cholate and smoke. The taste is sweet and medium complex and the finish is pretty long. Nice saison, but not my favourite

Bottle courtesy of ElManana, thank you sir! Black color, large tan head. Aroma of peppery hay. Taste is nicely hoppy with slight funk and decent roast.
