minutemat (1880) - Ford, Shropshire, ENGLAND - DEC 15, 2014
75cl bottle shared with Mr Farnfield @ Chez Sophie, Shrewsbury. Pours a deep dark brown with tan head. Aroma is smoky, taste is rather bizarre, blending an initial smoky bacon hit with juicy lemon citrus and a big roasted malt influence. Complex, big bodied and different, although I can’t detect much in the way of Saison-like characteristics.

Bottle from hop hideout, sheffield. Dark red ale with big tan head. Aroma is smoky rich dark malts with roasted coffee and earthy liquorice. Taste is mildly sour and burnt bitterness on the finish. Very prickly with a surprisingly thin body.

skortila (4626) - Baarn, NETHERLANDS - DEC 8, 2014
Bottled. 65cl almost full bottle sample. The aroma has citric fruitiness, bit earthy yeast tones, some toffee, Hazy, dark brown-black coloured beer with a medium, off-white head. The taste is light-moderate bitter, has some toffee, citrus, earthiness. Medium bodied, easy drinker. Good one.

PhillyCraft (3453) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 21, 2014
Bottle. pours plum black with huge and I mean huge fan head, full rings of lace. Smell is plums, candy sugar, saison yeast, and coriander. Flavor is most of the same. Pretty sticky and sweet, not into these kinds of saisons.

brnandersen (2029) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - NOV 13, 2014
Sample from 33 cl. bottle. Black with an amber tint. Big, creamy lightly tanned head. Roasted aroma with spices, light barnyard, brown cookies, citrus and fruits. Taste is bitter. Medium body with a creamy texture and a soft carbonation. Dry, roasted finish with yeasts and fruits. My first dark Saison - so far I enjoy it.

Sample from Bottle - black pour with thin beige head. Aroma and taste is a mix of subtle roasted notes, with some barnyard fruity undertones, very different brew, like.

Patjeadam (65) - NETHERLANDS - NOV 7, 2014
First smell is some nice roasted malts, a little chocolate and a bit boozy plums, first sip dives into the sour you expect from a saison, then it becomes a dance between the malts, chocolate sour and the hops, it becomes more complex and the plums return. I would classify this as a clean black ipa meeting a saison, and stays remarkably drinkable. Recommended. ---Rated via Beer Buddy (iOs)

Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy dark amber color with a longlasting off-white head. Has a weak roasted malty spicy yeasty aroma. Fruity malty spicy yeasty caramel flavor with weak bitter hints. Has a fruity malty spicy yeasty caramel finish.

erickok (3798) - Tours (and Paris), FRANCE - NOV 1, 2014
Black bodied and medium head. Roasted malts, toasty side, dark sugar, modern hops. It’s like a modern Belgian dark ale. Creamy yeast. Unique beer, although a bit too highly carbonated. (75cl bottle gifted by Menno and John, many thanks! And shared with Flavia and Alba)

armando629 (2416) - Budapest, HUNGARY - OCT 25, 2014
0,75 l bottle, Csakajósör, Budapest.
Poured deep black with an unbelievable superb beige, stable creamy head. Lactic acid, light smoke in the moderated aroma. Balanced tartness of lactic acid, smooth smokiness, light roasted character, creamy mouthfeel, well hidden alcohol. Nice!
