5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
I MANAGED TO GET ONE
the ONLY time i waited for a beer , till i get a certain amount of rates. never have i ever, nor will i ever , do that again. why now? this is MY white whale. if i hade a crate on dave, loerik ANS don Q, i would have traded them all for this ! let me explain :
before i was into craft beer, i saw these bottles and wanted them BADLY ! but i couldnt get them, untill i kinda knew my way around beer. i liked all of them ( they were actualy the first couple of craft beers i’ve had, but i just LOVED the bd 1 .
from there, i went to black albert an hel en verdoemenis. when aged, i kinda prefer the HV a bit over BA . BD is above those 2.
hel en verdoemenis 666 is my favourite beer, ever.
so , BA + HV = better than both appart
hv 666 + better than reguilar HV
so, BD 666 should be better than both appart
so this would be my best beer ever, with the most nice label and name ever, from the greatest brewers ever, in my favourite stout ever !!
i spent a year to get this one .
halinghansen is KING for trading me this one !
i couldn’t think of a moment in my life big enough to open this. so why not rate the bd 666 as my 666Th beer?
so yeah, behaived like a ticker the last weeks, but here it is !
side by side with the bd 1 ( 13 abv version) to get the little diffrences out.
this one pours a bit lighter. foam is very small and fades fast, while the 1 had a big foam and has smaller bubbles, lasts longer. maybe its the age, though .
bd 666 is intenser, especialy on the chocolate . yet the diffrences are very subtile
... taste ...
DAMN ! i should tell you, i already once mixed the 666 and the BA , in fear i might never get a hold of this bottle. it was pretty ’ normal’ but THIS,
THIS is a BIG difffrence ! way more intense than the BD 1, warmth of the barrels, this thing... i first sipped the 1, party in the mouth,
i than tasted the 666, explosion ! than the 1 tasted like watter !
oooh yess, math was right ! this goes right along with the 666 HV and the misto. straight 5/5 . i’d rate higher if i could !
does it pass the hv666 ? well i’m not sure. i’ve had the hv 666 like 15 times, still love it ! will i love this after 15 times? i hope i can someday know that ! but for now, i’d pick this first to have / drink cause of my small chances to ever get another one. tastewise? they’re both PERFECT .
if i could change 1 thing about this? it would be i had crates and crates of this beer!

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
oh damn... This thing looks beautiful. Pitch black pour, with a huge frothy light brown head. Looks like whipped cream on top of a cup of warm chocolate.
Aroma is packed with coffee, chocolate, wood, cognac, leather, earth, dark fruits, vanilla, booze. Some perfume/soapy notes in the nose as well... (a bit strange tbh)
The taste is a little sweet upfront, with a long, slightly bitter and dry aftertaste. semi-full bodied, with a smooth texture and a rather flat carbonation. A huge thanks to Chris for giving me this at BBF 12’

4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle. Pours a perfect pitch black, with a big brown creamy head. Aroma is liquorice and tobacco, with coffee, oak, vanilla and some nice burned notes. Alcohol is remarkably well disguised. Very nice full creamy body, with an almost flat but still noticeable carbonation. Good and complex flavour with sweet roasted malts and vanilla, as well as oak barrels, liquorice, caramel and kandi. Long sweet finish with a nice tobacco touch.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Enjoyed on tap at Zwanze Day at WLV Liquors. Served in my Zwanze taster flute.
A: Pours a jet black color with a thick and creamy dark mocha head forming on the pour. It recedes very slowly leaving behind thick traces of lace.
S: Big and boozy, there is a nice underlying sweetness and fruitiness. Heavy coffee, chocolate and just a little bit of cognac sweetness.
T: Boozy with a nice chocolate presence. Sweet cognac, ground coffee beans, bitter dark chocolate and a heavily roasted malt presence on the finish. Some sweet malts also pop up towards the finish.
M: Thick and oily with a medium low carbonation level. Roasty and sweet finish.
O: Big and boozy, but the nuanced flavors really pick this beer back up and it’s really good. Glad I got the chance to try it.
Serving type: on-tap

4.4 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Cognacsfatlagrad IS. Fantastisk.

4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours black with a medium tan head that drops quickly. Aroma of chocolate, vanilla, roasted malt, molasses, a hint of coffee. Taste opens somewhat sweet before turning into coffee and cocoa bitterness. There’s port wood and brown sugar there as well. Finish is quite boozy, with low carbonation. Body is thick, creamy and sweet. A nice imperial stout, slightly too sweet and boozy for my liking.

Thanks to Sean for hooking me up with this fantastic beer.
The appearance is near black with a thin, oily beige collar. The aroma brings delectable cognac, barrels, roast, oh wow - so good. The taste is silly. Smooth and rich, just teeming with flavor. Roasty...did I mention silky smooth. If i could give the mouth feel extra credit, I would. Yeah man, I am really digging this. Lots of cognac in both the nose and flavor, which is fantastic. Warming finish with alcoholic presence noticeably absent, which is a bit surprising, given the 13% abv. A stunning beer. I am huge fan of both of the beers that went into this blend. World class.
